Judy, You are the only one of Mrs. Cook’s descendants that I know. I want to send my condolences as well as to tell you that I remember Mrs. Cook well when she worked at the Carnegie Public Library in the early ’50’s. That was when my sister and I discovered the joys of a public library. The dear ladies who worked there made an impression on me; they earned our respect and I truly liked them. That would be Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Hackett especially, but there were others whose names I’ve forgotten. So I send my condolences to you and your family. I’m happy that Mrs. Cook had a long life and that her husband did as well.
Very sincerely,
Jane Fox (you met me at the Y when you were able to come to our MSROM class.
Judy, Now that I re-read the obit, I think I have the wrong sister! I remember them both but I’m thinking it was her twin Florence who worked at the library! Forgive my mistake; I am obviously getting up there in years too!
