Donald Lee Curtis, 84, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11:30 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington Court House where he had been since Friday.
Don was born on October 27, 1941, in Pike County, Ohio to Ray and Hazel Bea Jones Curtis. He attended Washington High School then enlisted into the United States Army in 1959 and served in Korea.
Before his retirement in 2003, he worked at RCA in Circleville. Before that, he was a truck loader at Pennington Bread in Washington Court House and was a member of the Bakers and Confectioners Union.
Don enjoyed gardening, mowing, riding his bicycle and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roger, Richard and Bobby Gene Curtis; three sisters, Janet Davis; Carolyn Wright and Joann Brady; a son-in-law, James Zugg and a grandson-in-law, Robbie Adelberg.
Don is survived by his wife, the former Patty Ann Dresbaugh, whom he married March 2, 1962; four children, Diane Zugg of Washington Court House, Sherry Vanzant and her husband, Eric, of Versailles, KY, Lori Higgins and her husband, Ryan of Washington Court House and Jennifer Pacura and her husband, George, of Yellow Spring, OH; seven grandchildren, Samuel David (Emily) Morgan, Kyle (Lindzey) Vanzant, Jaime Vanzant, Kari Vanzant, Tanner (Amanda) Higgins, Haylee Higgins and Dylan (Ciara) Pacura; 12 great grandchildren with another to arrive in December; a sister, Linda Riggs and her husband, Greg, of Washington Court House; many nieces and nephews and his beloved canine companion, Maggie.
To honor his wishes, cremation will be observed.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Good Hope Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
