Jack Gilbert Moats, 85, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at his home.
Jack was born March 15, 1941, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Robert Gilbert and Vada B. Eubanks Moats. He was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of Washington Court House.
He was a carpenter by trade. Before his retirement in 2018, he was a self-employed contractor and was known for building quality homes.
On October 25, 1969, he married the former Shirley Ann Jobe. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2019. He was also preceded by his parents and two brothers, Robert L. Moats and James R. Moats.
Jack is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jack G. and Brooke Moats; three grandchildren, Drew Moats, who is currently stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE and Mia and Allie Moats, both of Washington Court House.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 31, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House on Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
