Larry Galen Funk, 72, of New Holland, Ohio died Friday, October 14, 2022, at 1:30 a.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe where he had been a patient the past week.
Larry was born July 29, 1950, in New Holland to Worley Michael and Bessie Forsythe Funk. Except for 15 years in Florida, he lived most of his life in the New Holland community.
He formerly was an auto mechanic and, for ten years, was street superintendent for the Village of New Holland.
Larry was preceded in death his wife, Sharon Kay Keeton Funk on October 11, 2015; by a son, Larry Galen Funk, Jr. on October 11, 2003; ten siblings, Worley (Doc) Funk, Jr., Virgil Funk, Donnie Funk, Neil Funk, Harley Funk, Bernice Saxour, W. Marie Knapp, Ethel Williams, Linda Smith and Robert Funk.
He is survived by two daughters, Theresa Riley and her husband, John, of Winston Salem, NC and Becky Tietboehl and boyfriend, Junior Martinez, of Royal Palm Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Tiffany Losi, Kyle Jones, Kelsey Tietboehl, Logan Shiltz and McKenna McFadden; six great grandchildren; five sisters, Ruby Adams, Carolyn Funk, Marilyn Hettinger, Sarah Jane Picklesimer and Phyllis McCoy; three brothers-in-law, Donald Smith, Bob Eitel and Charles Smith; a sister-in-law, Patricia Funk and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with the Rev. Michael Hodge, pastor of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
