Jami Achor Loh, 61, of Brookline, MA passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026. She was a cherished and loving wife, mother, cousin, aunt and fur mommy that will be deeply missed.
Jami was born on April 27, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio to Marilyn E. Achor. She was a 1983 graduate of Washington Senior High. She then went on to get her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and foreign affairs from The Ohio State University. She once entertained becoming a spy, until she realized she couldn’t really keep a secret, and ultimately had too good a heart for the profession. Instead, she entered finance, where she continued her education at Suffolk University, obtained her MBA while working full-time.
She began her successful business career in Chicago, IL where she met her husband, Marvin Loh. The two moved to NYC, and then settled in Brookline, MA. They married in the fall of 1994, starting a family in the Boston area. Jami continued her career at Mass Development and retired from finance in 2016.
Jami enjoyed traveling, skiing, gardening and supporting animal welfare causes. She was a board member of the Animal Rescue League of Boston and rescued many well pampered pets over the decades. Her greatest passion was to spend time with her family and her current furry sidekick “Chef.”
Jami is survived by her husband of 32 years, Marvin J. Loh of Brookline, MA; daughter, Sydney E. Loh of Duluth, MN; first cousins, Dennis Garrison and his wife, Sherry, and Alicia Tackage and her husband, Todd, all of Washington Court House, Sean Arthur and his wife, Amy, of Hamilton, OH and Bruce Bevan and his wife, Adrianne, of Clarksville, OH and several other cousins.
Jami was preceded in death by her mother Marilyn E. Achor and maternal grandparents James and Thelma Achor, all of Washington Court House.
The funeral will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 12 Noon at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Steve Brand, pastor at the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
