Patricia Ann (Kadel) Wood, 86, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 12:37 a.m. shortly after admission to the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.  Her death was sudden and unexpected.

Patricia was born November 28, 1936, in Springfield, Ohio to Albert “Bud” and Janet Knicely Kadel.  She moved to Washington Court House in 2015, from Carmel, IN.

Over a 40-year career, Patricia built many relationships and was well respected for her knowledge and love of fine jewelry.  It was her vocation and passion.

Starting a very young age, she revealed her love of music through singing in the church choir and took every opportunity to share her talents, playing the piano.  The love of music led her to enjoy her role for many years in Vaud-Villities.

Patricia was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Tarrier on June 18, 2014; by her parents and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Charles Wood.

She is survived by her husband, John Michael Wood whom she married August 11, 1975; three children and their spouses, Monte and Beth Studebaker of Columbus, Tom and Carolyn Studebaker of Washington Court House and Michelle and Scott Bean of Upper Arlington; her grandchildren, Sarah (David). Caitlin, Christian, Chloe (John), Jordan (Megan), Avery (Jared), Rachael (Troy), Bekah (Joe) Alexa (Andrew) and Andy (Sarah) and great grandchildren, Seely, Dillon, Greer, Sayer, Henry, Harry, Elle and Jack; Also surviving are a son-in-law, Tim Tarrier; daughter-in-law, Nikki Studebaker; brother-in-law, Richard Wood; nephews, David (Monica) Wood and Steven (Starla) Wood and great nieces, Avery and Olivia Wood.

Cremation will take place with a private family gathering to be held at a later date.

Nathaniel Scott (Nathan) Cornetet, 42, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he had been a patient since February 15 following a motorcycle accident in Washington Court House.

Nathan was born September 17, 1980, in Dayton, Ohio to Russell Louis and Sharon Louise Mecham Cornetet.  He was a 1999 graduate of Northwestern High School in Springfield.

He served 20 years in the U.S. Army before retiring as a staff sergeant in 2018.  He currently was a sales service representative for Gordon Food Service.  Nathan recently completed a degree in cyber security.

Nathan was a member of O.E. Hardway Post #3762 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; enjoyed participating in bowling and softball leagues; was a motorcycle enthusiast and had a love for live music.

Nathan is survived by his wife, Brandi Dawn Jago-Cornetet whom he married June 10, 2017; six children, Brandon, Gavon, Carson and Kyndall Cornetet, Layla Moore and Draydon Moore; a grandson, Carter Moore; his mother and step-father, Sharon and Johnny Diviak of Springfield, OH; his father and step-mother, Russell and Beverly Cornetet of Liberty Township, OH; seven siblings, Kirsten (Nick) Walters of Springfield, Emily Diviak (Justin) McHaney of Enon, Megan Diviak of Springfield, Michelle (Eric) Laudick of Waynesville, OH, Jonathan (Bethany) Likens of Bellbrook, OH, Melissa (Chad Bowers) Zarrouk of Kettering and Kelli (Todd Worthen) Likens.  During his life, Nathan had the joy of having numerous nieces and nephews to love.  He was the kindest soul with the biggest heart, and therefore, has numerous friends that are called family.

Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House, Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 5-7 p.m.  A time of remarks and remembrances will follow the visitation.

Cremation will take place with burial of the cremains at the Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.

Nathan was a giving person, and his final gift was that of organ and tissue donation to save and heal the lives of others.

Darrell D. Michael, 81, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 10:10 a.m. at Signature HealthCARE of Fayette County where he had been a patient since February 8.

Darrell was born October 28, 1941, in Fayette County, Ohio, to Leslie C. and Edith Anders Michael.

Before his retirement, he was a firefighter with the Washington Fire Department.

He was a member of the McNair Memorial Presbyterian Church; was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War; was a member of the Fayette Lodge F&AM #107 and formerly was a member of Washington Chapter #129 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.

On October 25, 1962, he married the former Blanche Mootispaw.  She preceded him in death on March 12, 2004.  He was also preceded by his father, Leslie C. Michael; mother, Edith Parsons; step-father, Grandville Parsons; siblings, twin-brother Carroll Michael, LeRoy Michael, James Michael, and Robert Michael; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Ethel Yahn; sister-in-law, Sharon Martindale; brother-in-law, Phil Yahn and special friend Shirley Evans.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Peggy Michael, Terry and Sue Michael, and Brian and Heather Michael, all of Washington Court House; grandchildren, John (Nikki) Michael of Leesburg, Amanda (Mark) Devenport of Washington Court House, Katie (John George) Michael of Columbus, Sarah (Norman) Moore of New Holland, Aaron (Morgan) Brooks of Hillsboro, Jessica (Jeff) Clouser of Greenfield, Travis Davis of Jeffersonville, Jordan (Corey) Buckley of Wilmington, Bill (Markie) Michael of Washington Court House and Morgan (James Baker) Michael of Kettering; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Wilma Kelso of Waynesville, Roger Parsons of Florida, and Larry Michael of Washington Court House; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Kevin) Persinger of Greenfield, and Brenda Yahn of Mt. Sterling; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

The funeral will be Friday, February 24, 2023, 11 a.m. at the South Side Church of Christ with Todd Maurer, involvement minister at the church, and Danny Dodds, minister at the Greenfield Church of Christ, officiating.  The Fireman’s Last Call will conclude the service.  Burial, with complete military honors, will follow in the Sabina Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. where a Masonic service, which is open to the public, will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Donna Lee Alexander, 82, of Bloomingburg, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, February 15, 2023, following a recent hospitalization.

Mrs. Alexander was born October 12, 1940, in Highland County, Ohio to Wilbur Leroy and Inez Olive Evans Chrisman. She was a 1959 graduate of Bloomingburg High School and lived most of her life in the Bloomingburg community.

She was formerly a dental assistant but her main life’s work was being a homemaker and mother.

Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Heritage Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union.  She enjoyed bible studies, reading and making crafts.  She had a love for all animals but especially liked caring for outdoor cats.

On October 12, 1963, she married Max Dudley Alexander.  He preceded her in death on December 22, 2008.

She is survived by a son, Max D. Alexander, Jr. of Tipp City, OH and a brother, Robert L. Chrisman and his wife, Mary Jane, of New Holland.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Justin Siler, associate minister at Heritage Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union, officiating.  Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House

There will be no calling hours.

Alan Martin Sanchez, 56, of Bloomingburg, Ohio died early Wednesday morning, February 15, 2023, at his residence.  His death was sudden and unexpected.

Alan was born March 5, 1966, in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, to Alejandro and Maria Cristina Espinoza Orozco Sanchez. He had lived the pat 23 years in this community.

He formerly worked Reinhart Tower Service in Columbus for 19 years.  He had also worked at YUSA in Washington Court House and currently was employed by Pennant Molding in Sabina.

Alan was a faithful member of the First Church of God in Washington Court House where he served as an usher and a member of the technical support team.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Miguel Estrada.

Alan is survived by his wife, the former Aloha Maria Estrada whom he married December 31, 2002; a son, Alan Frank Sanchez; three brothers, Jose Sanchez of Washington Court House; Frank Sanchez and twin brother, Henry Sanchez, all of Nicaragua; a sister, Martha Sanchez of Nicaragua; his mother-in-law, Norha Ortega Estrada of Nicaragua; a brother-in-law, Jean Estrada of Washington Court House and three sisters-in-law, Ainuha Estrada of Nicaragua, Winoha Estrada of Miami, FL and Vicky Estrada of Spain.

Cremation will be observed.

A memorial service  will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the First Church of God, 610 Harrison Street, Washington Court House, with Pastor Patrick Gamble, minister at the church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

Kevin Wayne Witte, 66, husband of the former Brenda Louise Lilienkamp, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:17 p.m. at his home.  He had been in failing health.
Arrangements are pending and, when completed, will be announced by the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

Alice Louise White, 100, of Dayton, Ohio died Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 1:12 p.m. at the Sanctuary of Wilmington Place in Dayton where she had been residing since 2017.

Miss White was born December 25, 1922, at Londonderry in Ross County, Ohio to James Grover and Mary Ilo Taylor White.

She was a secretary at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for 37 years before her retirement in 1980.

Miss White was a member of the Belmont United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard White and a sister, Ruth White.

Miss White is survived by two nephews and their spouses, William A. and Elaine White of Rensselaer, IN and Jim and Diane White of Portland, Oregon; four great nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Luvada White of Chillicothe.

Cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at a later date in the Good Hope Cemetery in Fayette County, Ohio.

Betty Jean Montgomery, 95, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 4:40 a.m. at Court House Manor Nursing Home.

Betty was born October 30, 1927, in Gay, West Virginia to Fola and Gena Whiting Hart.  She moved to Washington Court House in1949, from Wilmington, Ohio.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.  She loved flowers and was an avid gardener.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Benson (Ben) Montgomery on May 26,1980, and a brother, Ray Hart.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Jeannette and Robert Brubaker of Columbus, OH; Jeffrey and Laura Montgomery of Montgomery, AL and Jon and Kellie Montgomery of Georgetown, KY; eight grandchildren, Ben  (Laura) Brubaker, Anne (Andrew Schultz) Brubaker, Sarah (Kaylor) McCain, Anne (Richard) Ketcham, Matthew Montgomery, Faith (Quinn) Barnett, Daniel Montgomery and Jolie Montgomery; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Wilson of TX and Dolly Holland of WV and several nieces and nephews, including Patricia Gall of Washington Court House.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Judy Chapel in Washington Cemetery, with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow in Washington Cemetery under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

Leonard Eugene “Lenny” Bach, 84, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 12 Noon at Four Seasons of Washington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a resident since March 30, 2022.

Lenny was born March 7, 1938, in Circleville, Ohio to Eugene Burton and Jean Charlotte Seimer Bach.  He was a graduate of Washington High School and attended the Chillicothe branch of Ohio University.  He lived most of his life in this community.

Before his retirement, he was branch manager and vice president at Citizen Federal Savings and Loan in Washington Court House.

Lenny was a United States Navy veteran and a member of Paul H. Hughey Post #25 of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Washington Rotary Club.  He enjoyed camping, boating, skiing and fishing and spending time on their houseboat at Lake Cumberland.

On June 4,1960, he married the former Wanda Faye Johnson.  She preceded him in death on November 19, 2017.

He is survived by three children and their spouses, Sheila and Steven Troute of Jeffersonville, Barry and Lori Bach of Washington Court House and Terry and Glen Satchell of Clifton; five grandchildren, Alaina Garrett and her husband, James, Lindsey Satchell, Ashley Satchell, Brittan Bach and Brady Bach; four great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Braylen, Beckett and Jackson Bach; a sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Jim Kirk of Washington Court House; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Penny Bach of Pentwater, MI and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ronda and Phil Grace of Dothan, AL.

Lenny’s family will observe a private family service.  There will be no calling hours.

Dana Ralph Crespino, 68, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 12:09 a.m. at Court House Manor where he had been a resident since July 15, 2021.

Dana was born April 26, 1954, in West Point, NY to Ralph and Janice Krokum Crespino.  He lived most of his life in Satellite Beach, FL before moving to Washington Court House in 2019.

He was formerly owner and operator of Jungle Works, a tropical themed construction company.

Dana was an avid fisherman and had a passion for creating things.

Dana was preceded in death by his wife, the former Virginia L Springer on February 7, 2019, and a sister, Blythe Helsema.

He is survived by three children, Kylie Lanman and her husband, Justin of Washington Court House, Aaron K. Crespino of Columbus and Jennifer Semple and her husband, John, of Blacklick, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Liam Lanman, Hayden, Loreli and Maura Crespino, Doug Fawcett, Skyler Bullock and Alexyss Bullock and two sisters, Laurie Stealey of Palm Bay, FL and Doria Crespino of Indiana Harbor Beach, FL.

“I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race.  I have kept the faith.”  2 Timothy 4-7.  It was God’s Grace that enabled Dana to fight the good fight and finish the race.  Now, because of his hope in Jesus, he is rejoicing in heaven with his savior and loved ones who have gone before him.

Dana leaves behind a legacy of love and passion for life.  He lived a life of adventure, creativity, and hard work.  His vibrant and steady personality brought light and laughs to his loved ones, imprinting memories to last a lifetime.

At his request, cremation took place.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 12 Noon at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Jay Lucas, minister at the Grace Community Church, officiating.  An additional memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida.
