Barbara Ann Zoodsma, 87, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 2:44 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington Court House where she had been a patient since March 15.
Barbara was born May 25,1935, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to John and Stella Lamper Feenstra. She was a 1953 graduate of Union High School in Grand Rapids and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She moved to Washington Court House in 1977, from Lawrence, MI.
She served as Fayette County Recorder for 13½ years and previous to that had worked at the Fayette County Law Library and for Hammond and Hammond Attorneys.
Barbara was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church where she had been an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women’s Circle. She currently had been attending the State Route 38 Church of Christ. She was a member of the Red Hat Society; the Fayette County Republican Club and had been a member of the Washington Court House Business and Professional Women’s Club.
On September 24, 1953, she married Lester Paul Zoodsma. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Zoodsma on September 12, 2017.
She is survived by three children, Paul Zoodsma and his wife, Dona, of Cookeville, TN; Carl Zoodsma and his wife, Connie, of Washington Court House and Ellen Zoodsma of Monroe, NC; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Phyllis Feenstra of Texas and two sisters, Ruth Bloom and her husband, Russell, of Florida and Mary Ellen VanSoestberg, of Texas.
The funeral will be Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House. A private burial will take place Friday, March 31, 2023, in the Cascade Township Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.

Edna Elizabeth Ooten, 88, of New Holland, Ohio died Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 10:32 p.m. shortly after arrival at the Adena Fayette Medical Center. She had been in failing health.
Ethel Louise Jordan, 90, of London, Ohio, formerly of Washington Court House, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at 5:11 p.m. at The Ohio State University Hospital East in Columbus where she had been a patient the past week.
Nathaniel Scott (Nathan) Cornetet, 42, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he had been a patient since February 15 following a motorcycle accident in Washington Court House.
