Naoma Ruth (Ruth Ann) Bailey, 87, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 11:10 p.m. at Clinton Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since September 14.

Ruth Ann was born July 14, 1936, in Kentucky to Raymond and Pearl Alexander West.  She was a graduate of Gauley Bridge (West Virginia) High School.  She lived most of her life in Greenfield and Washington Court House.

She was a member of WCH Grace Methodist Church, was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting.

On June 6, 1954, she married Donald W. Bailey.  He preceded her in death on December 23, 2000.  She was also preceded by two brothers, Richard and Floyd West and two sisters, Bonnie Masters and Janie Rose.

She is survived by a son, Donald R. Bailey and his life partner, Misty George, of Mount Sterling, OH; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and David Miller of Delaware, OH; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Dennis West and a sister and brother-in-law, Marietta and Sonny Taylor, all of West Virginia.

The funeral will be held Friday, September 22, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at WCH Grace Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Geraldine “Jerry” West Junk, 96, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:45 a.m. at Court House Manor where she had been residing since March 24, 2023.

Jerry was born February 4, 1927, in Jeffersonville, Ohio to Chester Lynn and Dora Mildred Ellis West.  She was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and attended beauty school in Springfield.  She was a lifelong resident of this community.

She owned and operated Jerry’s Beauty Shop for many years before her retirement in 1998.

Jerry was a devout Christian lady and a longtime member of WCH Grace Methodist Church and the Aldersgate Sunday School Class.  She had formerly been a volunteer with the Fayette County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and had also been a member of the Fayette Regional Humane Society.

Mrs. Junk was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack W. West in 1997, and special friends, Marty Wickensimer in 2019, Mark Wickensimer in 2022, and Edna May Walston in 2018.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Patricia West of Washington Court House; a niece, Linda Sue Davis and her husband, J. Paul Davis, of Goodyear, AZ; a cousin, Barb Coan of Grove City; special friends, Mell Wickensimer, Sharon Miller, Mindi Wickensimer, Deana Ely; Carla Long, Lisa Bohn, Vicki Cardenas and Carol Heinz; her friends in Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, including caregivers, Naomi Mootispaw and Shelly Robbins and several other cousins and numerous friends.

The funeral will be Monday, September 18, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at WCH Grace Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.

Mary Nell Wilson, 90, of Canal Winchester, Ohio died Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 8:19 a.m. at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala where she had been residing six weeks.

She was born September 25, 1932, in Reidsville, GA to Elmer Clinton “Tobe” and Lucy May Boyles Cowart.  She was a graduate of Collins High School in Reidsville and a 1952 graduate of the Warren A. Candler Hospital School of Nursing in Savannah, GA.  She moved to Canal Winchester in 1967, from Jeffersonville, Ohio

She was a retired registered nurse.  Following her retirement, she continued to care for those around her and always was a caregiver wherever she was.  Throughout her life, she continued to complete the state required educational courses to keep her nursing license current.

Mary had served as a pianist at her church; had been a Sunday school teacher and always supported the church missionaries and their endeavors.

On September 25, 1952, she married Lindy Dale Wilson.  He preceded her in death on July 11, 2017.  She was also preceded by five brothers, Elmer, Oland, Roy, Arthur and Carl Cowart and a sister, Callie Peeples.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Malcolm Turrill of Pickerington and Lisé and Russell Roth of Ashville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Dustin (Amanda) Wagner, Kelly Turrill, Russell (Stacie) Roth and Mary (Jeremiah) Jacobsen and eight great grandchildren, Amie, Joshua and Natalie Roth, Judah, Abigayle Lindy, Levi and Simon Jacobsen and Donovan Days.

The funeral will be Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Matthew Pittman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Jane De Chantell Bentley died peacefully at home on August 18th in Pleasantville, New Jersey at the age of 73.

Jane was born in Detroit, Michigan to Mary Ellen (nee Wood) and William Siegle Bentley. She graduated from Madonna University with a degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse for Henry Ford Hospital as well as teaching childbirth classes, and later on cared for patients as a home care nurse.

Her children remember her as a loving mother who encouraged their education. She enjoyed crocheting and reading and was a devoted pet owner throughout her life. She was a lifelong Catholic. After retiring and moving to New Jersey, she enjoyed sharing her love of makeup with her granddaughter.

Jane is survived by son Kris (and Houston) Konkel of Garden City, Michigan; son Alex (and Leona) Konkel, and granddaughter Amelia (8) of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey; brother, Bob Bentley (and Dianne Pickering) of The Villages, Florida; and former husband Roger Konkel of Garden City, Michigan.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Colman of Cloyne in Washington Court House, Ohio at 9:30 AM on September 22, 2023, followed by a luncheon. The burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ohio.

Tamitha Kay “Tami” Peters, 55, of Washington Court House died Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 9 p.m. at her home.

Tami was born April 6, 1968, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Lawrence Ernest “Butch” and Sharon Kay Lewis Peters.  She was a 1986 graduate of Miami Trace High School and was a lifelong resident of this community.

She formerly worked in the cash cave at the Washington Court House K-Mart store. She had been secretary in the office at Greenfield McClain Middle School and a cashier at Family Dollar in Greenfield, but her main job was that of a homemaker.

Tami was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence “Butch” Peters; her mother, Sharon Kay Douglas and ex-husband, Larry Carman, Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Joseph Peed, Jr., whom she married October 21, 2005.  She is also survived by a daughter, Jessica (Nicole) Peters; grandson, Jaxon Peters; siblings, Deborah Taylor; Amy (George Shelpman) Mason and Jeff Douglas; bonus daughter, Savannah (Nathaniel) Turner and several nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral will be Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Thomas J. Peed, Sr. officiating.  Cremation will follow the service.

Nancy Fay Landis, 68, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday, September 1, 2023, at 4 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington Court House where she had been residing since February.

Nancy was born September 3, 1954, in Jamestown, Ohio to Riggs and Maltie Jackson Powers.  She was a graduate of Madison Plains High School and moved to Washington Court House in 1987, from London.

She formerly was a cashier and supervisor at K-Mart and Walmart.

Nancy was a member of the South Side Church of Christ; was a volunteer at My Sister’s House and was a faithful Friday night attendee at the Rose Avenue Dream Center.  She was an avid collector of angels and roosters.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Zac Wallace on February 27,2023; three brothers, Edmond, Chester and Riggs Powers and a sister, Cora Powers.

She is survived by her husband,  Terry Landis; two daughters, Tina Garinger and her fiancée, Thomas Bush, of London, OH and B.J. Wallace and her husband, Gregory, of Circleville; three grandchildren, Amber (Austin) Pollock, Travis Garinger and Nevaeh Garinger; a step-grandson, G. W. (Stephanni) Wallace; three great grandchildren, Chad Pollock, Dexlee Pollock and Parker Wallace and his mother, Kirsten Jones; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Cathy Powers of Chillicothe and Bob and Sandy Powers of London; two sisters, Rose Beers of Jackson, OH and Martha Grubb and her husband, Bobby, of Washington Court House and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Joy Stanforth, associate minister at Heritage Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union, officiating.  Cremation will follow the service and burial of the cremains will be at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ohio.

Gary Lee Knisley, 75, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 10:05 a.m. at Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he had been a patient three days.  He had been ill since August 14.

Gary was born April 18, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to Karl and Helen Bryan Knisley.  He was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of this community.

Before his retirement, he was a fuel truck driver for Landmark and CountryMark.  Following his retirement, he drove trucks for Bumpus Trucking.

Gary was an avid golfer.  He enjoyed spending time with his granddogs, Lilly and Nora.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary is survived by his wife, the former Barbara E. Williams whom he married November 12, 1965; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheri Lynn and Charles Shipley of Bloomingburg and Greg and Amy Knisley of Washington Court House; two grandchildren, Makenna and Addison Knisley and two brothers, Larry Knisley of Columbus and Kenny Knisley of Washington Court House

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at WCH Grace Methodist Church, officiating.

The family of William Burwell “Bill” Creager, 81, of Washington Court House, Ohio is deeply saddened by his death on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at his residence.

He was born March 18, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio to William Burwell and Jean Cross Creager.

Bill, known as Will-I-Am, Dad, Pawp and Paw Paw was in the grocery business for many years.

He loved traveling, reading, golfing, The Ohio State University Buckeyes and singing in the Unified Men’s Choir, but he mostly enjoyed going to events in which his grandchildren were participating.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Charles Thomas Creager; a sister, Janice Harper and a son-in-law, Justin Sparks.

Bill is survived by his wife, the former Shirley J. Weemhoff whom he married March 25, 1988; their children, Kevin (Leanna) Creager of Cincinnati, Todd (Beth) Herman of Dublin, OH and Tami Sparks of Wilmington, OH; four grandchildren, Zane Stevens and his fiancée, Nikki Aiken, Regan Sparks, Amber (Tom) Goecke and Kellie (Mark) Duff; five great grandchildren; a sister, Jean (Mike) Coffey; sisters-in-law, Sandra Darfus, Kathy (Ron) Reiber; brothers-in-law, Richard (Aimee) Weemhoff and Russell Harper; several nieces and nephews and many friends he considered family.

The funeral will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Christian Church in Washington Court House where he was a member.  His longtime friend, Danny Dodds and church pastor Adam Lynch, will preside at the service.  A private burial will be held Monday in the Washington Cemetery.

Timathia Rae (Timi) Creamer Callender, 75, of Wilmington, Ohio died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 10:25 p.m. at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton where she had been a patient since August 18.

Timi was born May 31, 1948, in Milledgeville, Ohio to Gerald and Bette Ellen Taylor Creamer.  She was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School and lived most of her life in this community before moving to Wilmington in 1987.

She had formerly been a clerk in the bookstore at Southern State Community College and later retired from the Student One Stop at Wilmington College.

Timi had formerly been a volunteer and member of the board of directors of the Clinton County Homeless Shelter.

She was preceded in death by a son, Chad Kirk Callender on June 25, 2019; by her parents and two brothers, Jonathan Wayne Creamer and Rory Richard Creamer.

Timi is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ellyn and Tracy Justice of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Taylor (Brandy) Callender of Xenia and Haylee Justice and her fiancé, Luke Smith, of Wilmington; two great grandchildren, Gabby and Lucas Callender; a sister, Jeanna Brown of Galloway; her fiancé, Jim Mann of Xenia; special friends, Judi Creeger and Jeanne Smith of Wilmington and her dog, Pete.

To honor her wishes, cremation will take place.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 15, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House   Burial of the cremains will be in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.

Kevin Scott Eggleton, 50, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023.  His death was sudden and unexpected.

Kevin was born December 19, 1972, in Fayette County, Ohio to Larry E. and Cynthia Kay (Cindy) Fries Eggleton.  He was a 1991 graduate of Miami Trace High School and lived most of his life in the New Holland community.

He was a self-employed drywall finisher.

Kevin loved the family farm, the outdoors, animals and rock and country music.  He was an avid Browns and Buckeye fan.  He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Ruth Eggleton and Bob and Ruth Fries, and a cousin, Lori Pettit.

Kevin is survived by a son, Austin (Katey) Eggleton of Covington, KY; a granddaughter, Leighton Eggleton; his father, Larry (Susan) Eggleton of New Holland; his mother, Cindy Eggleton of Washington Court House; a brother, Bruce Eggleton and his fiancé, Amy, of Washington Court House; two sisters, April Eggleton of New Holland and Amber (Bryan) Floyd of Sabina; a stepbrother, Adam N. Lightle of Washington Court House; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Isaiah, and best friends, Jeff Reed and his son, Wyatt.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Gathering Place Church, 240 Court House Parkway, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
