GREGORY SCOTT DENTON

Gregory Scott Denton, 75, of Dayton, Ohio died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 10:34 p.m. at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

Greg was born March 30, 1950, in Wilmington, Ohio to Robert Todd and Ethel Joyce Crumly Denton.  He was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School; received a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in business administration from National University.

Before his retirement, he was an aeronautical engineer and had worked for Pratt & Whitney, General Dynamics, General Atomics, Solar Turbines, General Electric and Boeing Aerospace.

He was extremely interested in space travel and built a full-size replica of a space capsule which was displayed at the Fayette County Fair.  He was an avid Ohio State University football fan and enjoyed sports cars, playing bridge and volleyball.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sanda Krone and his step-father, Willis F. Coffman.

Greg is survived by his mother, Joyce Coffman; a brother, Douglas Denton and his wife, Jackie, all of Grove City and three nieces and a nephew.

A private graveside service will be held in the Washington Cemetery with Eddie Gault, associate pastor at the First Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

    I’m so sorry to hear about Greg. Greg and my brother Dale Dunn were good friends. I remember back in 68, (I think that was the year), they hitchhiker out to California! Please, Doug and family take care…
