Douglas Eugene Maddux, 68, of Washington Court House, OH died Monday, July 13, 2026, at his home.
Doug was born September 25,1957, in Fayette County, Ohio to Donald Eugene and Patricia Lou Southworth Maddux. He was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of this community.
He was formerly manager of the Washington Pool Association and recently had been a car detailer.
Doug was an avid sports enthusiast and was a fan of the Notre Dame Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. He also enjoyed watching westerns, especially those with John Wayne.
On June 21, 2013, he married the former Connie Jean Pennington. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2016.
Doug is survived by three children, Drew A. Maddux, Courtney Rummer and her husband, Jeremie, and Kyle J. Maddux, all of Washington Court House; a step-daughter, Jamie Jewell of Grove City; seven grandchildren, Frank, June, Lynnlee and Kylee Maddux, Jalen Johnson, McKenzie and Hallie Rummer; two step grandchildren, R.E. and Callan Jewell; a brother, Michael D. Maddux and his wife, Kristy of Charlotte, NC and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation was observed.
Burial of the cremains will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. in the Washington Cemetery under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 3-6 p.m. at The Depot on Main, 215 South Main Street, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
