Iris Mae Duncan, 66, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 8:12 a.m. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Westerville.

Iris was born June 15, 1955, in Clinton County, Ohio, to Charles Bernard and Agathe Elsa Pallmer Bradshaw.  She was a 1973 graduate of Miami Trace High School and lived most of her life in this community.

She had formerly worked at Case Convalescent Center, Thatcher Plastics and Calmar.

Iris was an avid bowler and golfer.  She enjoyed going to the casinos, auctions, yard sales, collecting antiques and drinking coffee.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Iris is survived by her husband, Donald Alan Duncan whom she married June 29, 1973; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Brittanie Duncan of Westerville; five siblings, Dr. Michael Pallmer and his wife, Faye, of Minocqua, Wisconsin, Sylvia M. Bradshaw, Carmen Bradshaw Penwell and Gene Bradshaw, all of Washington Court House and Don Bradshaw and his wife, Diane, of St. Cloud, Florida; her beloved dog, Toby and grand dog, Marshmallow, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

The funeral will be Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Todd Maurer, connections minister at the South Side Church of Christ, officiating..   Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery.

Ursula Johanna Williams, 80, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 8:35 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington Court House where she had been a patient since April 12.

Mrs. Williams was born April 11, 1942, in Nuremberg, West Germany to Wilhelm Johann Wolfgang and Kunigunde Anna Moller Seiffarth.  She moved to Fayette County, Ohio in 1963, and to Washington Court House in 1973.  She became a United States Citizen on June 9, 1992.

She had attended two years of technical school in Nuremberg, majoring in retail sales and marketing.   She formerly was a bookkeeper at the G. C. Murphy Store, Murphy Mart and Ames Department Store.  She worked at Airborne, retiring 13 years after the closing of the Ames store.  She also taught German classes for local community education programs.

Reared as a Lutheran, she was a member of All Saints Church.  She enjoyed, animals, dancing, and meeting new people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey Edward Williams on June 25, 2007, and a son, Dewey E. “Eddie” Williams, II on April 6, 2022.

Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, Danny Joe Williams of Washington Court House; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Williams of Good Hope and three grandchildren, Jesse and Jake Williams of Dayton and Lailah Gay of Washington Court House.

The funeral will be Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. DeVon Davis, chaplain for ProMedica Hospice, officiating.  Cremation will follow the service with burial of the cremains at a later date in Washington Cemetery

Jeb Andrew Blevins, 63, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 5:45 p.m. at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus where he had been a patient 2½ weeks.

Jeb was born May 20,1958, in Williamson, WV to Elza Ray and Dora Ellen Charles Blevins.  He was a graduate of Bluefield High School in Bluefield WV and attended Bluefield College and Bluefield State College before receiving an associate degree from Morehead State University.  He moved to Washington Court House in 1990, from Hilliard, Ohio.

He was a bookkeeper for Leading Edge Technologies, North Shore Primitivities and Vanessa L. Blevins, CPA and Company.

Jeb was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, the former Vanessa Lynn Conley whom he married June 5, 1982; two children, Ali Blevins of Columbus and Zack Blevins and his wife, Ashley, of Harker Heights, TX; his mother, Dora E. Blevins of Fredericksburg, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Laura Lynn Blevins of Bluefield, VA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Abbie and Shawn Harpel of Fredericksburg, VA and Deena and Steve Moore of Grove City, Ohio and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeb was a giving person and his final gift was that of tissue and cornea donation to save and heal the lives of others.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

William Barton (Bart) Montgomery, 94, of Washington Court House, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 9:55 p.m. at Four Seasons of Washington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a patient since March 25.

Bart was born June 20, 1927, in Washington Court House, Ohio to William Wesley and Clara Mae Morris Montgomery.  He graduated from Washington High School in 1945, as senior class president. He continued his education at The Ohio State University, graduating with a degree in agriculture business in 1948.  He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Following his discharge from the Army, Bart returned to Fayette County and started his lifelong farming career, first with his father and then with his son and grandsons.

Bart was an active in Farm Bureau and Nationwide Insurance, serving on the board of directors of both organizations.  He was a member the Grace United Methodist Church where he had been a Sunday school teacher and served on numerous committees.  He was also a member of Fayette Lodge F. & A.M. #107 and AGS fraternity.  Bart and his wife, Laurel, had traveled extensively and had visited every state in the union in addition to several countries in Europe and Asia, including Russia and China. He developed many lifelong friends from over the years.

On March 24, 1956, he married his beloved childhood friend, the former Laurel Ford.  They celebrated 59 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on June 9, 2015.  He was also preceded by his parents and two sisters, Alice Montgomery Herrmann and June Montgomery Pero.

Bart is survived by a son, Keith A.  (Hope Tolle) Montgomery of Washington Court House; a daughter, Jan (Richard) Taeuber of Seminole, FL; four grandchildren, Wesley W. (Brandi) Montgomery and Kyle W. (Katie) Montgomery, Jennifer (Andrew) Kennedy, and Michelle (Benjamin) Bechtold; five great grandchildren, Wiley and Josie Belle Montgomery, Ella and Quinn Montgomery and Abigail Kennedy.  He was proudly expecting the birth of three additional great grandchildren this summer. He is also survived by brother, Robert Montgomery and several special nieces and nephews.

A Masonic service, led by the brethren of Fayette Lodge #107, will be conducted Monday, April 18, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church.  The funeral will immediately follow the Masonic service with the Rev. Matt Brookes, pastor at the church, and Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Tammy Sue Glispie, 56, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:47 a.m. at her home.

Tammy was born June 18, 1965, in Washington Court House, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of this community.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Edwin Rolfe; grandmother, Garnet Shadley; uncle, Ernest “Junior” Barnett and aunts, Vonnie Shadley, Phyllis Phillips and Helen Davis,

Tammy is survived by her husband, Tony Lee Glispie whom she married June 1, 1996; five daughters, Tonya Annon and her husband, Paul, of Greenfield, Melissa Bailey of Mt. Gilead, OH, Gladys Annie Bailey, Felicia Bailey and Rhonda Bailey, all of Washington Court House; a step-son, Richard Cox of Washington Court House; 12 grandchildren; her mother, Nancy Barnett Rolfe of Washington Court House; a brother, Eddie Conger and his wife, Chris, of Orient, OH; two sisters, Terry Staten and her husband, Charlie, of Columbus, and Tracy Nicholson of Marysville; an uncle, Ronald Barnett of Washington Court House; two aunts, Bessie Posey and Garnet A. Shadley, both of Washington Court House and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with John Pfeifer, pastor at the Gathering Place, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Carolyn Sue Stoughton, 76, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 4:40 a.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe where she had been a patient since Tuesday.

Carolyn was born February 18, 1946, in Fayette County, Ohio to Paul E. and Daisy Justice Harrison.  She lived most of her life in this community.

She was a member of the Crossroads Christian Church and had served as treasurer of the Fayette County Commission on Aging.

On June 24, 1969, she married William Lincoln Stoughton.  He was preceded her in death on January 6, 2011.  She was also preceded by a brother, Thomas Harrison and a sister, Shirley Gilley.

She is survived by a son, John A. Stoughton of New Holland; a nephew who was reared as a son, Rusty Harrison of Washington Court House and his children, Silace Harrison and Rakeya Benson and a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Ralph Burgess of Washington Court House.

The funeral will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Adam Lynch, minister at Crossroads Christian Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Highlawn Cemetery.

Marjorie Ann (Jordan) Schaefer, 86, of Bloomingburg, Ohio entered into the kingdom of heaven on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 10:28 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington Court House where she had been a patient since March 10.

Marjorie was born June 4, 1935, in Franklin, Ohio to H. F. (Hugh) and Agnes Archer Jordan.  She was a graduate of Lemon-Monroe High School in Monroe, Ohio.  On November 3, 1956, she married Arthur F. Schaefer at the Bethany Methodist Church in Bethany, Ohio.  They moved to Fayette County in 1964, from Butler County.

She had several different jobs, the most recent being bookkeeper for Schaefer Farms.

Marjorie was a member of the Midway Presbyterian Church in Sedalia.

She looked forward to getting together every Thursday at the deli with the “Lunch Bunch.”  She also loved having pizza night and playing games with her family; working puzzles and playing euchre.  Marge enjoyed traveling with family and friends and traveled once to Europe and twice to Denmark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art in 2011; a sister, Erma Jean Jordan; brothers, Richard, Carlos, and Fred Jordan; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Peg) Jordan and Greta Jordan and a nephew, Rick Jordan.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Bill (Dee Dee) Schaefer of Florida, Tim (Mary Jo) Schaefer of Bloomingburg, Sandy (Bryan) Clyburn of Bloomingburg and Bent Hansen of Denmark, whom she thought of as a son.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Eric and Alaina Schaefer, Kayla (Corey) Stevens, Evan (Hannah) Schaefer, Cody (Franke) Clyburn; a brother, Bob (Karen) Jordan of Florida; several nieces and nephews and her canine companion, Artie.  She was especially looking forward to meeting Cody and Franke’s child, her first great grandchild, to be born in August.

The funeral will be Monday, April 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Midway Presbyterian Church in Sedalia with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery.

Patricia Ann “Cricket” DeWeese, 59, of Bainbridge Ohio, died Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 1:59 p.m.at her home.  She had been in failing health.

Cricket was born September 24, 1962, at Georgetown in Brown County, Ohio to Jack Robert and Donna Lee Eckert Huddleston.

She loved horses, country antiques and enjoyed the music of Patsy Cline, but she especially loved her kids and grandkids.

Cricket was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Joshua Pollock.

She is survived by two children, Jessica Lindsey (Kyle) DeWeese-Rigsby of Grove City, Ohio and Jonathan (Summer) Huddleston of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Jaiden, Kolt and Ava with another grandchild on the way; step mother, Terrie Huddleston; five siblings, Ruby (Brian) Lane, Tammy Huddleston, Johnny Huddleston, Robert Yaden and Sheri Sims and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Rose Avenue Community Center, 412 Rose Ave., Washington C. H. with Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with the final expenses.

Wendy Sue (Waddle) Mansfield, 73, of Sabina (Lee’s Creek), Ohio was carried home Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 10:20 a.m. at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.

Wendy was born October 6, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to Marion and Helen June (Fisher) Waddle.  She grew up on Snowhill Road in Fayette County, graduated from Miami Trace High School in 1966, and Bowling Green State University in 1970.

She taught school a short time in Fayette County before moving to Kaiserslautern, Germany, where she used her physical education degree in managing an Army Recreation Center and a woman’s sports program.

Wendy met her husband, Ron, in Germany and they were married September 24, 1980, in Heidelberg.  From the marriage, Wendy inherited two sons, Wade and Zac and gave birth to daughter, Erin Leigh, in 1981.

Wendy supported Ron as an Army spouse until he retired in 2013, at which time they built the house of Wendy’s dreams in Lees Creek on her mother’s homeplace.

Along with her husband Ron, she was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Waddle.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald B. Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Brian Driggers of Fayetteville, NC; two stepsons, Wade Mansfield and his wife, Kym, of Sacramento, CA and Zac Mansfield of Wilmington, OH; a granddaughter, Zoe; a brother, O.J. Waddle and a sister-in-law, Carol Waddle of Fayette County and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, 55 Megan Drive, Wilmington, Ohio.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Lees Creek United Church of Christ, 57 Cox Road, Lees Creek, Ohio with the Rev. Josh Dixon, pastor at Bible Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sabina Cemetery.

Beverly June Alkire, 91, of Xenia, formerly of Washington Court House, Ohio, died Monday, March 28, 2022, at 10:25 a.m. at Shawnee Estates Senior Living in Xenia where she had been a resident the past 4 ½ years.

She was born June 22, 1930, in Wilmington, Ohio, to Jesse Hammond and Velma Smithson Carey.  She was a 1948 graduate of Wilmington High School and moved to Washington Court House in 1961, from Circleville.

Beverly was a retired bookkeeper and secretary and had worked alongside her husband, Jack, as co-owners of Builders’ Wholesale Supply, but her greatest joy in life was her family.

She was a member of the Wilmington Friends Meeting.

On August 1, 1959, she married Jack Fulton Alkire.  He preceded her in death on September 12, 2018.  She was also preceded by her parents, four brothers, Robert, Noel, John and Dean Carey and five sisters, Helen Hadley, Alice Whiteneck, Orba Bullen, Eleanor Elliott and Phyllis Spitler.

Beverly is survived by four children and their spouses, Dr. Nancy Lynn Alkire and her husband, Scott Seaman, of Columbus, Susan Carrie Zaffiro and her husband, Paul, of Liberty Township, OH, David Jack Alkire and his wife, Keya, of Mount Sterling and Jennifer Ann Schiff and her husband, Brian, of Wake Forest, NC; six grandchildren, Sarah Zaffiro (Kyle Karnes), Rachael (Drew Stevens) and Carissa Zaffiro, Cole and Carter Schiff, and Dean Alkire; a sister-in-law, Sarah Jane Alkire of Xenia and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday, April 1, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Julie Rudd, pastor at the Wilmington Friends Meeting, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Madison Mills Cemetery.
