Dorothy Daily (Dottie) Ervin, 90, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, November 29, 2021, at 8:23 p.m. at the Adena Fayette Medical Center where she had been a patient since Friday.
Dottie was born August 15, 1931, at Beaver in Pike County, Ohio to Charles Clayton and Constance Gayle Keller Pyle. She moved to Washington Court House in 1942, from Beaver and was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School.
She had formerly worked at Risch’s Drug Store, the Record-Herald, Armco and NCR. She was also a realtor for 22 years.
Dottie was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
On September 20, 1953, she married Jon W. Ervin. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2014. She was also preceded by a son, Dan Douglas Ervin on December 24, 2016; brother, Jack E. Pyle and a sister, Constance M. Meriweather.
She is survived by two children, Bruce Ervin and his wife, Sandy, of Centerville and Laura Ervin of Westerville; four grandchildren, Kathy Ervin, Brandon (Alex) Ervin, Courtney (Chris) Cook and Andrew Ervin; two great grandchildren, Bailey and Claire Ervin; a sister, Shirley Stackhouse of Washington Court House; nieces and nephews and many friends.
At Dottie’s request, cremation took place.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the church, officiating.
Private burial of the cremains will be in Washington Cemetery under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
