Roger Kirkpatrick

Ann Cox, 88, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 7:50 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington Court House where she had been residing the past year.

Ann was born September 6, 1935, in Fayette County, Ohio to William McKinley and Anna Marie Greenwalt Dews.  She was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of this community.

She formerly was a medical assistant for Dr. Joseph Herbert and Dr. Warren Craig.

Ann attended Heritage Church, had been a member of the community band and the Washington Lioness Club.

Her passion was taking care of her family and home.  She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was a pet lover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, P. Wesley Cox on November 19, 2022, and a brother, Mac Dews, Jr. on December 10, 2016.

She is survived by four children, Joseph Alan Cox and his wife, Janice, of Alpharetta, GA; Jennifer Ann Heiny and her husband, Mark, of Washington Court House, Jonathan Dews Cox and his wife, Cindy, of Jeffersonville and Jason Daniel Cox and his wife, Jennifer, of Mason, OH; eight grandchildren, Morgan Cox, Mallory (Ethan) Cunningham, Molly (Terry) Gruber, Jake Pollock, Alicia (Nathan) Dill, Logan, Nathan and Katie Cox; six great grandchildren, Macy, Megan, Paislee, Roman, Macklin, Jovie and a great great granddaughter, Daisy.

To honor her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no service or visitation.

A private memorial service will be observed by her family at a later date.  Burial of the cremains will be in Washington Cemetery.

Esther Zellers, 106, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died Friday, November 24, 2023, at 11:58 p.m. at her home, just 16 days away from her 107^th birthday.

Esther was born December 10, 1916, in Licking Township in Fairfield County, Ohio to Ivan R. and Vera V. Hizey Poff.  She graduated from Liberty Union High School at the age of 16 and later worked at a dress shop in Baltimore, OH.

She was a farm wife and assisted her husband with his farming operations in Fairfield and Licking Counties and then in Pickaway County when they purchased a farm and moved to New Holland in 1962.  She had lived in Washington Court House since 1983.

Esther was involved in church activities throughout her life.  She was a member of WCH Grace Methodist Church and the Rebekah Circle at the church.   She formerly was a Methodist Youth Fellowship advisor.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, travelling and reading but especially enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

On October 1, 1939, she married Derwin Zellers at Paradise Hill in Ashland County, Ohio.  He preceded her in death on April 22, 1993.  She was also preceded by two daughters, Linda Kay Waller on April 13, 2011, and Rita Yvonne Squires on July 2, 2022; by four sisters, Verna Stamm, Ruth Ety, Vietta West and Jane Poff and two sons-in-law, Johnnie Squires and Larry Waller.

Esther is survived by three daughters, Diana Kirkpatrick and her husband, Roger, of Washington Court House, Dixie Hott of New Holland and Terri Kirkpatrick and her husband, Bruce, of Washington Court House; 15 grandchildren, Greg (Paige) Squires, Mark (Cyndi) Squires, Mary Jill (Terry Hicks) Miller, Laura (Jonathan Westrich) Waller, Tamara Waller, Beth (Jay Dorsey) Waller, Julie Waller, Matt (Lisa) Waller, Brent (Sarah) Kirkpatrick, Troy (Kristen) Kirkpatrick, Eric Hott, Ria (Marc) Grubb, Mallorie (Justin Hupp) Hott, Nikki (Bryan) Sheets and Brock (Tiffeny) Kirkpatrick; 37 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at WCH Grace Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.

Donald Earl Wolfe, 88, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, November 23, 2023, at 4:25 p.m. at Court House Manor Nursing Home where he had been residing since May 20, 2023.

Donald was born April 20, 1935, in Fayette County, Ohio to Earl and Edith Carr Wolfe.  He lived most of his life in Fayette County where he was a retired farmer.

He was an avid horseman and loved anything to do with horses, especially breaking horses and calf roping.  He had been a longtime member of the Bar W Riding Club.  He was an expert woodworker and specialized in making fine furniture.  Following retirement, he also enjoyed gardening and yardwork.  He had served in the Ohio Army National Guard.

Donald was preceded in by his first wife, the former Donna Jean Yearian on September 26, 1990, and by his second wife, Karen Sue Gerhardt Wolfe on February 11, 2016; a brother Eugene “Gene” Wolfe and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Tom Skeens.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristi K. Wolfe of Stoutsville, OH; two step children, Dale (Carol) Huffman of Sabina and Joyce Huffman of Washington Court House; a step grandson, Darren Huffman; two step great grandchildren, Jayden Knuckles and Rylan Huffman; a sister, Lora Fay (Don) Snyder of Bergholtz, OH; a sister-in-law, Roberta Wolfe and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday, November 27, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Andrew Hottinger and Doug Snyder officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery.

Wade D. “Buck” Wagner, 65, of New Holland, Ohio died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 4:48 p.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe where he had been a patient since November 17.

Buck was born November 23, 1957, in Kittanning, PA to Carl F. and Gladys M. Shetler Wagner.  He attended Shannock Valley High School in Pennsylvania and moved to the New Holland community in 1989, from Pennsylvania.

He was a self-employed carpenter.

Buck proudly served as a Seabee in U.S. Navy for thirteen years.

He was a member of the Amvets; enjoyed working with his hands and building things and spending time with his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Wayne, Blaine, Donald and Carl “Sonny” Wagner.

He is survived by his wife, the former Vickie Sue Donohoe whom he married March 8, 1982; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Amber Wagner of Lithopolis, OH; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Keith Furry of Ann Arbor, MI; a grandson, Brantley Wagner and three siblings, Virginia (John) Reddinger of Rural Valley, PA; Gene Wagner of Carmichaels, PA and Janet Wagner of Virginia Beach, VA.

Buck chose to give the gift of life and sight to others by becoming a tissue and cornea donor.

Cremation was observed.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the New Holland Church of Christ, 326 North Main Street, with Richard Matthews, former minister at the church, officiating.

Friends may call at the church Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of the service.

Johnathan Neville Clawson, 41, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday, November 17, 2023, at 3:15 a.m. at the Adena Fayette Medical Center where he had been a patient one day.

Johnathan was born November 21, 1981, in Columbus, Ohio to David Lyle and Penny Louise Neville Clawson.  He was a 2000 graduate of Washington Senior High School.  He lived most of his adult life in Columbus before returning to Washington court House in 2020.

He had formerly been a customer service representative for Spectrum.

Johnathan was preceded in death by a brother, Steven A. Clawson in 2017, and his father, Jerry E. Smith in 2022.

He is survived by three children, Logan, Leo and Levi Clawson; his mother, Penny Smith and a sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Victor Linsten of New Holland.

Cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or service.

Helga Elisabeth Kent, 87, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday, November 17, 2023, at 1:53 a.m. at her home.

Helga was born May 24, 1936, in Dessau, East Germany to Moritz and Elizabeth Jllge Hieronymus.  She moved to Washington Court House in 1972, from Kansas.

Before her retirement, she had been manager of the deli-bakery at the Washington Court House Kroger for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Charles Kent on March 27, 2003.  She was also preceded by a son, Norbert Kent in 2018.

Helga is survived by a daughter, Donna Vicarel and her fiancée, Scott Ratliff, of Washington Court House; a son, Michael Kent of London, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kevin Kent, Mark Kent, Patrick (Taylin) Kent and Samantha Aames; a great granddaughter, Sophia Rivera; great great granddaughter, Tala Aames; special family friends, Erwin and Nelsie Rivera; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rainer Fuchs and Dieter Hieronymus, all of Dessau, Germany; a nephew, Ronald Fuchs and a niece, Nina Hieronymus.

To honor her wishes, cremation will take place.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Washington Cemetery, with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at WCH Grace Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

Patsy Ann Bryant, 85, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, November 6, 2023, at 7:10 p.m. at her home.

Patsy was born September 26, 1938, in Fayette County, Ohio to Charles Luther and Northa Lois Fountain Cockerill. She was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School and was a life-long resident of this community.

She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles (Mac) Cockerill and Edwin Cockerill and a sister, Joy Gleadall.

She is survived by her husband, John A. Bryant whom she married August 11, 1957,  three children, John Michael “Mike” Bryant and his wife, Christy, of Washington Court House; Kimberly Wyatt and her husband, Rick, of Centerville, Ohio and Mark Bryant and his wife, Kimberly, of Washington Court House; ten grandchildren, Brittany Bryant, Brady (Sarah) Bryant, Heath (Abbie) Bryant, Bailee (Kendal) Coleman, Eryn (Marshall) Portwood, Kasey (Brad) Bamberger, Tanner (Trey) Uetrecht, Joshua (Morgan) Wyatt, Luke (Hannah) Wyatt and Gracie Wyatt; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Ann Cockerill,  Brant and Elaine Cockerill and a sister, Sandi Rockhold, all of Washington Court House and numerous nieces and nephews.

To honor her wishes, cremation was observed.

A celebration of life, “Open House,” will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. at the Depot on Main, 215 South Main Street, Washington Court House with food and drinks provided by Rachel’s Catering.

A memorial service will be held for the family on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Todd Wallace, pastor at the Sugar Grove United Methodism Church, officiating.  Friends of the family are welcome to attend.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Patrick Mitchell “Mitch” Vincent, 68, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 2:09 a.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus where he had been a patient since November 2.  His death was sudden and unexpected.

Mitch was born March 17, 1955, in Fayette County, Ohio to Loren Theodore (Ted) and Rena Joann Hursh Vincent.  He was a 1973 graduate of Miami Trace High School and lived most of his life in Fayette County.

He was a routeman and supervisor for Nichols Bakery from 1993, until his retirement in 2016.   He had also been a stocker at Kroger and had worked at LeElla Lanes.  He was a driver of Standardbred race horses.

Mitch served in the Ohio National Guard.  He liked fishing, camping and vacations to Tennessee.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he thoroughly enjoyed attending and watching them participate in all of their sporting activities.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Elaine White Vincent on January 26, 2016; his father on November 20, 2020, and a brother, Douglas Allen Vincent in 1963.

Mitch is survived by his wife, Terri Lee Howard Vincent whom he married July 17, 2019; six children, Michelle Tinsley of Roachdale, IN, Anita Cunningham of Carmi, IN, Paula Amnay of Washington Court House, Joshua Vincent and his wife, Amy, of Washington Court House, Heather Wofford and her husband, Jeremy, of Beavercreek and Heidi Stewart and her husband, Tim, of Washington Court House; 16 grandchildren; his mother; Rena Joann Vincent of Washington Court House; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Dave Hensgen of Leesburg, Pam and John Hardy of Washington Court House and Debbi and Jeff Justus of Circleville; longtime friends, R.G. Alkire of Jeffersonville and Toni Alkire of Westerville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the New Holland Cemetery with Jon R. Creamer officiating.  Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

Charles D. (Chuck) Noble, 60, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 12:04 a.m. shortly after arrival at Adena Fayette Medical Center.  He had been in failing health, but his death was sudden and unexpected.

Chuck was born September 10, 1963, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Charles David and Marilyn Marie Monteith Noble. He was a graduate of Miami Trace High School and was a lifelong resident of New Holland and Washington Court House.

He had been a production supervisor at Land O’ Lakes Purina Feed in Washington Court House since 1988.

Chuck was a member of Fayette Aerie #423 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Washington Court House; liked working in his garage; enjoyed riding his Harley and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck is survived by his wife, the former Stacey Deanne Williams whom he married July 17, 2004; two daughters, Paige Bush and her husband, Casey, of Kingston, Haley Williams of Washington Court House; three grandchildren, Garrett Jester, Wren Williams and Melanie Bush and Charlie Bush to be born in May;  two brothers, John Noble and Keith Noble and his wife, Roxane, all of Washington Court House; two sisters, Diane Noble of New Holland and Stacey Noble of Washington Court House and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

Cremation will follow the visitation.

Marvin Eugene Stout, 81, of Circleville, Ohio died Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 9:44 p.m. at his home.

Marvin was born August 11, 1942, in Circleville to Hulda Marie Shepherd and Marvin Eugene Stout.  Except for several years in Florida, he lived most of his life in the Circleville community.

Before his retirement he was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local Union #18 in Columbus.

He was a member and elder of the Living by Faith Ministries in Circleville.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2256 in Circleville.

Marvin loved fishing, hunting, guns, knives, John Wayne movies, harvest time and eagles.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Kasindra and Jimmy Monst; a grandson William Dennie Evans, III; a son-in-law, Stanley Reinhart; his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Frank Vandergriff; an infant brother, Michael Crago and a brother-in-law, Harry Riffle.

Marvin is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Ann Martin whom he married March 10, 1963; four children, Ketrina Reinhart of McConnelsville, OH; Kasandra Childers and her husband, Rick, of Orient, Marvin and Melanie Stout of Alberta, Alabama and William Stout and his wife, Kristy, of Chillicothe; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Riffle of Tarlton and Anne McAllister-Smith and her husband, Victor, of Chillicothe and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Friday, November 3, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Living by Faith Ministries, 8557 State Route 56, Circleville, Ohio with Pastor Scott McCormick officiating.  Burial, with complete military honors, will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Kingston.  Following the graveside service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church.

Friends may call at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
