Errol C. Black, 80, of Washington Court House, Ohio died peacefully at his home on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Errol was born September 21, 1943, in Greenfield, Oho to Chester Fulton and Viva Nell Baxla Black. He was a 1961 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield and lived most of his life in New Holland and Washington Court House.
Before his retirement, he had been a welder at Armco for over 40 years.
He was a 56-year member of New Holland Lodge #392 F. & A.M. and served as master in 1972. He was also a member of the 32nd Degree Masons, Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine in Columbus; the Washington Shrine Club; Washington Lodge #123 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Fayette Aerie #423 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Errol was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two daughters, Lorre L. Black and Kerri K. Black; a granddaughter, Peyton K. Black and the mother of his children, Kay L. Oughterson, all of Washington Court House. Also surviving are four siblings, Diana (John) Smalley and Barry (Candy) Black, all of Greenfield, Kenny Black of Washington Court House and Portia (Rick) Knisley of Frankfort and several nieces and nephews.
To honor his wishes, cremation will be observed and there will be no visitation or service.
Memorial contributions may be made to his granddaughter’s college fund with checks payable to Kirkpatrick Funeral Home and sent to 554 Washington Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
