Calvin Leonard Bellar, 78, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 11:39 p.m. at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Calvin was born February 3, 1945, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Harry C. and Margaret Jane Conger Bellar.  He was a lifelong resident of this community where he was a retired laborer.

He faithfully attended the Grace United Methodist Church.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ralph Bellar and a sister, Anna Mae Litteral.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Dennis Canter of Mount Sterling, Ohio; two grandchildren, Lacey Duffy and Joshua Hudson; special friends and caregivers, John R. Meriweather and Dicka Nye and his other caring members of the Grace United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church.

Private burial of the cremains will be in the Washington Cemetery under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

    I remember Calvin from when I worked at Ace Hardware. Randy Brown and I would help him every time he came in. I would give him rides when I saw him walking. I always thought he had a kind soul. He is at peace now and no more in pain.
