MARILYN (DRAKE) STINSON

Marilyn (Drake) Stinson, 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 2, 2025, at The Wyngate Senior Living Community, Circleville, Ohio, where she had been residing since August 2025.

Marilyn was born October 24, 1930, at her home in Atlanta, Ohio, to Charles and Opal (Eckle) Drake, who predeceased her. She was a 1948 graduate of Atlanta High School, where she proudly cheered for the Atlanta Red Raiders for four years.

Marilyn married Dr. Dustin Stinson on April 11, 1951, and moved to Clarksburg, Ohio, in 1956, where she assisted him in his veterinary practice, and served as an aid at Clarksburg Elementary School. She was an ardent fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds and was the last surviving member of the legendary Clarksburg Young Married Women’s Club.

Marilyn and Dusty raised four children in Clarksburg: Sally (Terry) Sewards of Circleville, Ohio; Drake Stinson of New Holland, Ohio; Dane (Maureen) Stinson of Dublin, Ohio; and Kyle (Kathy) Stinson of New Holland, Ohio, all who survive. She also is survived by nine grandchildren: Zac (Nikki) Sewards of Gahanna, Ohio; Kelsey (Mike) Glockner of Wheelersburg, Ohio: Kirk and Kala Stinson of Washington CH, Ohio; Ben (Izarys) Stinson of Boston, Massachusetts; Tierney (Jimmy) Hankenhof of Worthington, Ohio; Patrick (Alison Roth) Stinson of Clintonville, Ohio; Stephanie (Nick) Davey of Atlanta, Ohio; and Dustin (Kristen) Stinson of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are twelve great grandchildren: Will and Eli Sewards; Kade, Elle, and Cora Glockner; Clare, Julia and Tommy Hankenhof; Isabela Stinson; Mya and Dax Davey; and Jett Stinson; many nieces, nephews, and friends; sisters-in-law Shirley (Vincent) Drake and Marilyn (Fulton) Drake; and classmate and life-long friend Rita (Ater) Long.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Dusty; grandsons, Tyler McKinley Stinson and Abraham, Isaac and Jacob Sewards; brothers, Dean and Joe Drake; father- and mother-in-law, McKinley and Annalee (Briggs) Stinson; brother- and sister-in-law Dr. Byron and Eleanor (Manly) Stinson, and sister-in-law, Anne Stinson.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the New Holland Cemetery, with Marilyn’s grandsons serving as pallbearers.  Following services, friends and family are encouraged to gather at The Crossing at Clifton Estates Clubhouse, 1625 Crossing Boulevard, Circleville, Ohio 43113.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Circleville, 116 Morris Road, Suite B, Circleville, OH 43229 or Clarksburg United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 189, 17264 High Street. Clarksburg, OH 43115.
