Karen Sue Peters, 70, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, January 1, 2022, at 4:35 a.m. at Signature HealthCARE of Fayette County where she had been residing since September of 2020.
Karen was born September 27,1951, in Knox County, Ohio to Darrell and Betty Hardy Saunders. She lived most of her life in this community.
She formerly was an aide at the Orient State Institute.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rodney Saunders and Neil Saunders; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joshua and Ora Peters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elmer, Lawrence “Butch,” and Jack Peters, Raymond Bills and Clarence Cruse, Donna and Ruth Peters, Barbara and James Rhoads and Genevieve Smith.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Peters whom she married May 29, 1981; a brother, Rickey A. Saunders of Lebanon, OH; sisters-in-law, Joan Bills, Louise Cruse and Alice Peters and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Todd Maurer, involvement minister at the South Side Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon Wednesday until time of the service.
