BETTY LOU SICKER

Betty Lou Sicker, 94, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 2:22 p.m. at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus where she had been a patient since Wednesday.

Betty was born October 24, 1930, in Winchester, Virginia to Charles Emerick and Lumma Mae Racey Copenhaver.  She was a 1948 graduate of Coshocton High School and had formerly lived in Middleton, OH before moving to Washington Court House in 1973.

She had been a telephone operator in Coshocton.

Betty was a member of WCH Grace Methodist Church; Fayette County Commission on Aging; Emmaus Share Group; the Widow’s Group; Homemaker’s Club and was an avid bridge player.  She was a hairdresser at heart and enjoyed doing the hair of her granddaughters.

On May 10, 1952, she married Robert Louis Sicker, Sr.  He preceded her in death on December 28, 2009.  She was also preceded by three siblings and their spouses, Charles Copenhaver and his wife, Dorothy, Marguerite Hunter and her husband, Willis, and Donald Copenhaver and his wife, Liz, and a brother-in-law, John Stevning.

She is survived by two sons, Robert L. (Rob) Sicker, Jr. and his wife, Catherine, of Aurora, Ohio, Rickard Sicker and his wife, Tasia, of Dublin, Ohio; a daughter, Suzanne Heinz and her husband, John, of Washington Court House; grandchildren including Margo (Scott) Robinson, Rachel (Corey) Martin, Coury Sicker and Kelsey Sicker; several great grandchildren and a sister, Garnetta Stevning of Birmingham, AL.

Arrangements for a visitation at WCH Grace Methodist Church and a graveside service in the Coshocton County Memory Gardens in Coshocton with the Rev. Matt Brookes, pastor at WCH Grace Methodist Church, officiating, are being completed.

Memorial contributions may be made to WCH Grace Methodist Church, 301 East Market Steet, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
