Nancy Beth Cox, 81, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 4:54 a.m. at the Laurels of West Columbus where she had been residing the past 11 months.
Nancy was born February 27, 1943, in Highland County, Ohio to Glenn and Esther Mae Smalley Roberts. She was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School and then the Nationwide Beauty Academy in Columbus. Except for several years in Columbus, she lived most of her life in this community.
She was a clerk in the Franklin County Auditor’s Office for 25 years before her retirement on October 31, 2014.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lewis Cox on May 14, 2002; a son, Kevin Carl McCoy on September 26, 1995; the father of her children, Ronald L. McCoy on January 24, 2017, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Roberts on March 21, 2022.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa L. and Steve Bailey and Gina and Trent Shaw, all of Washington Court House; six grandchildren, Christopher James (C.J.) McCoy and his wife, Lacy, Carlee McCoy, Kelly Kohli and her husband, Jed, Brad Shaw and his wife, Carrie, Casey Shaw and his wife, Loren, and Derek Shaw and his wife, Cori; nine great grandchildren, Gunner, Harrison and Nash Kohli, Bryar, Hudson, Gavin, Greyson and Parker Shaw and Luke Packard; a brother, Martin Roberts and a niece, Amanda Deem, both of Columbus.
The funeral will be Monday, August 12, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Michael Hodge, pastor at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.

Ruth Ann Duncan, age 76, of Cedarville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Miami Valley Medical Center in Dayton.
Charles Richard Shipley, age 54, of Washington C.H., died Monday, July 22, 2024, in the emergency room at Adena Fayette Medical Center in Washington C. H. He was born November 20, 1969, in Washington C.H. the son of Grover R. and Virginia M. (Benedum) Shipley, Jr. Charles was employed with D.H.L. for more than 33 years, he had worked his way up to become Operations Supervisor. In his free time, Charles enjoyed gardening, grocery shopping, cooking, biking, fishing, hunting, and loved the great outdoors. He cherished his quiet time with his wife Cheri, and spending time with his father metal detecting. Charles was a wonderful husband, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheri L. (Knisley) Shipley, to whom he married October 30, 1999 in Washington C.H.; father Grover R. “Dick” Shipley, Jr. of New Holland; two sisters, Vicki and her husband David Climer, and Kimberly and her husband Dennis Bick all of Washington C.H.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gregory and Amy Knisley; mother-in-law Barbara Knisley of Washington C.H.; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Taylor, Samantha (Greg) Barbour, Nicholas Dresch, Trey Climer, Tori (Chris) Wehner, Ginna Climer, Makenna Knisley, and Addison Knisley; great nieces and nephews, Ian Taylor, Lexi Scott, Lane Scott, Leo Dresch, Aubreyann Taylor, Evelyn Dresch, Gwendolyn Wehner, and Haley Barbour; and many friends. Charles is preceded in death by his mother Virginia M. “Ginger” Shipley on May 20, 2024; and father-in-law Gary Knisley on August 27, 2023. Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Washington C.H. Kristi Lynch Ott will officiate. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a gathering immediately following the funeral service. The gathering will be held at the First Baptist Church of Washington C.H., 301 E. East Street, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160, where a meal will be provided by the New Holland United Methodist Church. All are invited and encouraged to attend for food and fellowship, and to share storied about Charles. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
Timothy John Van Horn, 61, of New Holland, Ohio died Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his home. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Shirley Ruth (Kimmey) Lux, 77, of Washington Court House and Fayette County, Ohio died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, after a brief illness.
