PAULETTE SUE DUNCAN

Paulette Sue Duncan, 79, of Washington Court House died Friday March 20, 2026, after a long battle with dementia. Paulette was born March 20, 1947, to John F and Ruth Eleanor Callender. She was a graduate of Washington Senior High School class of 1965, and a lifelong resident of Fayette County.

She met her husband and best friend, Jim Duncan in elementary school, when they lived on the same street. They began dating in 1964, and eventually married on April 2, 1973. They shared a love that everyone deserves. They cared and loved each other unconditionally.

Paulette worked as a florist for many years. She loved flowers and had an eye for making the most beautiful arrangements for any occasion. Paulette loved to shop, especially for shoes and purses. She always had the perfect shoes for every occasion. She loved to travel and go fishing.  Most of all Paulette enjoyed spending time with her family and being Mamaw to her granddaughters, Savannah, Emily and Mia. Paulette loved her dog, Tucker, and enjoyed taking a car ride each day with Jim and Tucker. They traveled hundreds of miles together exploring places.

Paulette was a loving and devoted wife, a caring and nurturing mother to her daughter, Amanda and son-in-law, Brian, and the best Mamaw. She had a kind and loving heart, a quick wit and an amazing sense of humor.

Paulette was preceded in death by her father in 2009, and her mother in 2011.

Paulette is survived by her husband, James Duncan, her daughter Amanda (Brian) Loebrich and 3 granddaughters, Savannah and Emily Rutherford and Mia Loebrich.  She is also survived by several cousins including Skip (Vicki) Curl.

Paulette lived a full and happy life. She traveled to many places including beaches along the east and west coast and the gulf. She visited the Caribbean on several cruises and took trips to Alaska and Hawaii.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Adena Hospice for the care they provided to Paulette the last few weeks.

The funeral will be Monday, March 23, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Dr. Christopher Anderson, chaplain for Adena Hospice, officiating.   Cremation will follow the service.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
