Carla Lynn Keeton, 49, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at home while surrounded by her family.

She was born August 15, 1976, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Carl and Lula Faye Law Keeton. She Lived all of her life in Ross County.

Carla attended Pioneer School in Chillicothe, graduating in 1997. While in school, she enjoyed playing basketball, cheerleading, swimming, bell choir, track & field, and making her own script as the frog in the school play. Throughout her life, she enjoyed puzzles, word searches, playing PacMan, and was an organizational queen that Loved attending country concerts, especially Blake Shelton. She was often acknowledged during October for Disability Employment Awareness month while employed at Red Lobster for 23 years.

She will always be remembered as an avid bowler. She played weekly in the Susan’s Special Friends League and the Senior League at Shawnee Lanes. She won many gold medals in bowling at the Special Olympics.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lula Keeton; sister, Sharon Funk; brother, Anthony “Whitey” Keeton; two nephews, Larry Funk Jr. and Brandon Keeton, and two brothers-in-law. Donald Funk and Larry Funk Sr.

She is survived by her siblings, Judy (Skip) Strahler, Linda (Tony) Jones, Richard Keeton, Merv (Tara) Keeton, Jack Keeton, Emma (Lloyd) Arledge, Mike (Angie) Keeton, Betty (Tim) Strahler, and Dovie (Bryan) Archer. She is also survived by 38 nieces and nephews, 40 great nieces and nephews, 10 great great nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Angie Keeton. She is also survived by many many friends, her Susan’s Special Friends Family and her Red Lobster Family.

The family would like to thank National Church Residences Hospice Care Team, especially Clarissa and Bree.

In October 1993, Carla had the opportunity to move in with Emma, Lloyd, Lloyd Jr, and Jessica Arledge where they created a special bond for the last 32 years. The family would also like to thank the Arledge family for their care and love while Carla lived in her forever home.

The funeral  will be held Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with Aaron Hines, chaplain with National Church Residences Hospice, officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Carla’s name, to the Pioneer School, 11268 County Road 550, Chillicothe, Ohio  45601.
