Joe R. Giebelhouse, 81, of Bloomingburg, Ohio died Friday, September 13, 2024, at 12:55 p.m. at the Mount Carmel Grove City Medical Center where he had been a patient since September 12 Joe was born May 15, 1943, in Washington Court House, Ohio to George Russell and Dorothy Evelyn Coe Giebelhouse. He was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wilmington College in 1965 and was a lifelong resident of this community.
Joe was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking, antiques, trap shooting, traveling and photography.
Before his retirement, he was a computer systems analyst for the Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hugh and Lydia LaFollette.
Joe is survived by his wife, the former Ruthann LaFollette whom he married July 20, 1974; a cousin, Sandra Lukens of Grove City and many dear friends.
A private service will be held at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with burial to follow in the Madison Mills Cemetery.
