Edward Eugene Bonner, 95, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 9:27 a.m. at Everheart Hospice Center in Greenville, Ohio.
Ed was born February 2, 1928, in Madison County, Ohio to Gus and Hazel Miller Bonner. He was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and lived most of his life in Washington Court House.
Before his retirement in 1986, he was a 30-year employee of Armco Steel.
Ed was reared on a farm and loved the outdoors. He was a lifelong gardener and an avid deer hunter but he especially enjoyed spending time with his friends at his camper in Highland County.
On February 3,1947, he married the former Janet Ruth Turner. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2022. He was also preceded by his parents and five siblings, Marvene Gueth, Barbara Rae and Herbert, John and Richard Bonner.
Ed is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Lawrence (Steve) Shaltry of Greenville, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Luan Bonner of Canal Winchester; five grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Shaltry, Benjamin Shaltry, Joshua Bonner, Ryan Bonner and Lara (Isaac) DeSanto and two great grandchildren, Christopher and Austin Shaltry.
The funeral will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Danny Dodds, minister at the Greenfield Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House from 12 Noon Wednesday until time of the service.

And his children and grands for sure. Always so dearly loved by my Aunt Janet his wife my mothers sister.. uncle Ed and Aunt Jane were always a strong influence in my and my sisters lives growing up. They were both like a 2nd set of parents and so close to our Mother and Father❤️
