Franklin Hugh Lentz, 83, of Las Vegas, NV died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Lentz was born December 10, 1938, in Charleston WV to Franklin Rinehart and Helen Louise Tomlinson Lentz. He had lived in Las Vegas since 1997.
He was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School; graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1961, and received a Masters of Business Administration from Murray State University in 1963.
Before his retirement in 2001, he was an engineer contracted to the Department of Energy.
He was a member of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Las Vegas and formerly was a member of the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church in Washington Court House. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn (Kay) Minshall Lentz in 2004. He was also preceded by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Robert Lentz and a son-in-law, James Robert Burton.
Mr. Lentz is survived by his wife, Jean Marie Scott Kochevar-Lentz whom he married November 23, 2007; a daughter, Julie Kay Lentz Burton of Fairfax, VA; six step children; 12 step grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann Marie (Cookie) and Wayne Coakley of Grove City, OH and Marjorie and Bill Hoffman of Cincinnati and a sister-in-law, Nancy Lentz of Mauldin, SC.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, by the Rev. Father Cyrus Haddad, pastor at the church. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
A private visitation will be observed by the family.
