Wanda M. Jamison, 98, of Washington Court House, Ohio died peacefully, while surrounded by her family, Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at 4:20 p.m. at her home.
Wanda was born June 20, 1922, in Fayette County, Ohio to Asa and Mary Garrison Arnold. She was a 1940 graduate of New Holland High School and the Capital Beauty School in Columbus. She lived most of her life in this community.
She had formerly been a beautician at the Cherry Beauty Shop in Washington Court House.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church; a life member of the ladies auxiliaries of Burnett-Ducey Post #4964 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. She also was a member of the Fayette County Commission on Aging; loved playing cards, especially euchre, and enjoyed “get away” trips to Myrtle Beach and other nearby places.
On May 27, 1946, she married Benjamin Franklin (Ben) Jamison, IV. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2011. She was also preceded by her parents; her step-father, Carl Davey; a sister and brother-in-law, June and Jim McCown; a step-brother, Reed Davy and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ronald Anderson.
She is survived by three children, Lana Crain and her husband, Ray, of Odessa, MO; Benjamin F. Jamison, V and his significant other, Jane Johnson, of Washington Court House and Randy Jamison and his wife, Dawn, of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren, B. J. Jamison, VI, Jesse Jamison and his wife, Ashlee, Kayli Jacobsen and her husband, Jesse, Jillian Gum and her husband, Bryan and Josh Jamison; three great grandchildren, Benjamin F. Jamison, VII, Emma Jamison and Hudson Jamison and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
