Vicki Ellen Reedy Horney, 66, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at 7:30 a.m. at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus where she had been a patient since Sunday.
She was born March 20, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio to George and Martha Hidy Reedy. She was a 1968 graduate of Miami Trace High School and attended the Bowling Green State University. Except for seven years in Texas, she lived most of her life in this community.
She, along with her husband, co-owned and operated Horney’s Barbeque. Previous to that, she had been an executive secretary for Frito-Lay in Rosenberg, TX; manager of Aziana Imports in Houston, TX and was a regional manager for Appraisal Research Corporation in Findlay, OH.
Vicki was a member and past worthy matron in 1980 of Jefferson Chapter #300 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Jeffersonville. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Stephen K. Horney whom she married January 17, 1981; three children, Stephanie Stroker and her husband, Jim, of Fayette County, Ohio; Steven T. Horney and his wife, Shelly, of Jamestown, OH and Heather Morgan of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren, Sammantha Stroker, Jimmy Stroker, Kyle Kaminski, Addie Morgan, Jace Leslie; Luke Horney, Alex Horney, Nick Horney and Andrew Horney and numerous cousins who were special to her.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund her Vicki’s name at Miami Trace High School, 3836 State Route 41-NW, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
