Roger Larry Deskins (Larry), age 77, of Washington Court House, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2018, 10:42 a.m., while surrounded by his loving family, at Court House Manor.
Larry was born in Waverly, Ohio, on December 19, 1940, to the late Marvine Stulley Deskins and Woodrow Wilson Deskins. Larry met the love of his life, Lora Barrera, in Miami, Florida and were married in 1959. Larry is survived by his three daughters, Michelle, Monica and Jennifer.
Larry was blessed to have seven grandchildren, Stephanie and Deskins Campbell, children of Monica and Donnie Campbell of Bloomingburg, Ohio, Katie, Lexi and Sophia Cramer, daughters of Michelle and Jim Cramer of Dublin, Ohio, and Aubrey (age 8) and Mason (age 6), children of Jennifer and Kurt Johnson of Hilliard, Ohio and one-great-granddaughter, Harper Anne Campbell (age 4), daughter of Donnie (Deskins) Campbell and Kelsey Bowdle of Washington Court House, and three brothers Franklin (Frank) Deskins, widower of the late Mary Deskins, Woodrow L. (Woody) Deskins, Sr. and wife Linda, and Robert (Butch) Deskins and wife Betty, all who reside in Washington Court House.
Larry had a number of hobbies after he retired from his concrete business. He enjoyed being outside, working in his garden and cooking. His daughters will remember him as a devoted, smart and strong father who wanted nothing more than to spend time with his family.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House. The family will have a private funeral service and burial Thursday, August 16, 2018, with Pastor Tony Garren, minister at the Fayette Bible Church, conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
