Robert R. Cotner, 82, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 2:20 p.m. at the Mount Carmel Grove City Medical Center where he had been admitted the previous evening.
Bob was born June 6, 1938, at Port Clinton in Ottawa County, Ohio to Floyd Leroy and Lora Thelma Hurtt Cotner. He was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School and lived most his life in this community.
Before his retirement, he was an engineer at Cooper Energy Services in Springfield. Following his retirement he worked several years at Kirkpatrick Funeral Home.
Bob was a member of the former Good Shepard Lutheran Church and currently the All Saints Church. He had been a longtime member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Washington Court House, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Howard Cotner.
Bob is survived by his wife and best friend, the former Donna Lee Hart, whom he married June 16, 1957. He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Rolland Wilson of Washington Court House; two grandsons, Reece Cosler and his wife, Sarah, and Troy Cosler and his fiancé, Kelsey Huffman, all of Wilmington, Ohio; five great grandchildren, Hannah, Mason, Nora, Carter and Corbin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Highlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Father Warren Huestis, rector at the All Saints Church, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
There will be no calling hours.
