ROBERT E. ROBERTS (Change in Service Time)

Robert E. Roberts, 86, of Jamestown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 2:50 p.m. at Jamestown Place Nursing and Rehab where he had been a resident since January 2020.

Robert was born July 27, 1935, in Fayette County, Ohio to Roy Leander and Margaret Alice Baughn Roberts.  He was a 1953 graduate of Silvercreek High School in Jamestown and was a lifelong resident of the Jamestown community.

He formerly was a real estate salesman and broker before his retiring as a stationary engineer for Central State University.

Robert was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He had been a member of Jamestown Lodge F & AM #352 for over 50 years.  He was a wood carver and a member of the Dayton Woodcarvers Guild.  He was an avid Bible reader and enjoyed gardening.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Elizabeth Marie Johnson in 1991, and by his second wife, Joyce Watson Poe in 2018.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry  and Bill Faul of Jamestown; a grandson, Larry Aleshire and his wife, Melisa; three great grandchildren,  Jeffrey Wilson and his wife, Hannah, Dustin Wilson and Elizabeth Aleshire; four great great grandchildren, Brody, Jenna, Dustin and Sophia Wilson; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth R. and Shelley Bryan and a sister Sara (Sally) Bryan of Washington Court House; two step brothers, Robert Burnett and his wife, Esther, of Jamestown and John Burnett of Miamisburg and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 12 Noon at the New Silvercreek Cemetery in Jamestown.  Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

There will be no calling hours.
