Richard S. “Bud” Hollar, 78, of Bloomingburg, Ohio died Monday, March 15, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe where he had been a patient since Saturday.
Bud was born April 13, 1942, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Richard Robert and Anna Mae Wilson Hollar. Except for time spent in the Navy, he lived most of his life in this community.
He formerly was a tool and die machinist at Mac Tools and later worked at Advance Auto Parts and Bloomingburg Spring and Wire.
Bud attended the Church of Christ and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant granddaughter; a brother, Jay Hamilton; a sister, Betty Richards and an infant sister that died at birth.
He is survived by his wife, the former Nana C. Newman, whom he married December 22, 1962; three children, Richard Kevin Hollar and his wife, Tiffany, of Washington Court House, Jodi Michelle Wellington of Columbus and Warren Park Hollar and his wife, Amy, of Grove City; five grandchildren, Jacob, Ben, Kaitlynn and Ava Hollar and Danny Wellington; five siblings, Patsy Boddy of Oregon, Sally (David) Massie of Washington Court House, Larry (Susie) Hollar of Circleville, Laura Wilson of Washington Court House and Katie (Danny) Perkins of South Solon and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
