RICHARD LEO ANTHONY

Richard Leo Anthony, 79, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 1:15 a.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he had been a patient since January 21.  He had been in failing health.

Dick was born June 12, 1941, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Willis Leo and Annalee Jane Ott Anthony.  He was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School and a lifelong resident of this community.

Before his retirement, he was a longtime employee of Armco/Steelox in Washington Court House.

He was a member the Grace United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed woodworking and raising rabbits.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Gregory Foddrell; a brother, Garry Anthony and a sister, Barbara Grooms.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lynne Carol Sutton whom he married November 5, 1961; two daughters, Michelle Hayes and her husband, Dennis, of Washington Court House and Marcia Foddrell of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Andrew Hayes and his wife, Tori, and Kristen Brown and her husband, Nick; a brother, Larry Anthony; a sister, Carolyn Merritt, of Washington Court House and several nieces and nephews, including, Kurt Merritt, a special nephew who was like a son and Dick’s best friend, Jay Carter.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place.  A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 301 East Market Street or Second Chance Center of Hope, 420 West Oakland Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio  43160.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
