Marcella Grace Griffith, 93, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 3:20 p.m. at Court House Manor where she had been residing since May 22, 2021.
Mrs. Griffith was born May 29, 1927, in Jasper Township in Fayette County, Ohio, to William and Effie Wilburn Finley. She was a graduate of Wayne High School in Good Hope and lived most of her live in Greenfield before returning to this community, from Greenfield, in 1998.
She was a former longtime employee of the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Greenfield and then worked for Greenfield Research.
On May 7, 1947, she married Howard Wesley Kelley Griffith. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Renner; a son-in-law, James Renner; step-son, Victor Burke; two brothers, Wayne and Harold Finley and two sisters, Margaret Garringer and Imogene Finley.
Mrs. Griffith is survived by five children, Diana Jean Renner of Franklin, Ohio, Penelope (Penny) Everhart of Greenfield, Debbie Garcia and her husband, Jose, of Springboro; Lanny Griffith and his wife, Sue, of Candia, New Hampshire and Tim Griffith and his wife, Liz, of Hillsborough, New Jersey; nine grandchildren, Jamie Renner, Carl Renner, Stephanie (Aaron) Saunders, Hollie (Wes) Johnson, John Griffith, Carol Estep, Emily Griffith, Jonathan Griffith and Amanda Griffith; several great grandchildren and two sisters, Patricia West of Washington Court House and Aileen Kirchner of Centerville.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Good Hope Cemetery with Jamie Renner, Mrs. Griffith’s grandson, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
At her request, there will be no calling hours.
