Mamie Louise Hill O’Conner, 84, of London, Ohio died Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 6:27 p.m. at McNaughten Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation where she had been admitted several hours earlier.
Mamie was born July 4, 1936, in New Holland, Ohio to Charley William and Bertha Funk Hill. She was a 1955 graduate of New Holland High School and lived most of her life in the New Holland community before moving to Williamsport in 1998. She moved to London in 2011.
She was an aide at Orient State Institute for 17 years then worked at the Buckeye Youth Center until her retirement in 1990.
Mamie was a member of the New Holland Church of Christ; the London Senior Citizens and was a former member of the Pythian Sisters in Harrisburg.
On May 20, 1998, she married Norwin O’Conner. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2002. She was also preceded by three brothers, Michael, Homer and Andy Hill; a sister, Erma Mae Hill and a half sister, Mildred Stewart.
She is survived several nieces and nephews and a longtime friend, Marilyn Turner Hawkes of Williamsport.
The funeral will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with the Rev. Michael Hodge, minister at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, officiating. Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
