Lora Lynn Maddux, 82, of Washington Court House, Ohio joined her family in heaven on Friday, December 4, 2020, at 3:30 p.m. at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
Lora was born April 30, 1938, in Fayette County, Ohio to Paul and Lillian Van Vickle Yahn. She was reared by her grandparents, Earl and Laura Lininger, on a farm outside of New Holland. She was a graduate of Washington High School and, except for 20 years in Mason, Ohio, lived most of her life in this community.
While in Mason, she was very active in her church. Upon her return to Washington Court House, she was a member of the Southside Church of Christ until health issues kept her away.
Lora was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends above all else. It was fortunate that, during these times, Lora was able to be taken care of at home, where she passed surrounded by the people who loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; a brother and his wife, Paul and Bertha Yahn and a sister and her husband, Carolyn and Paul Kerns.
She leaves behind her loving family including a daughter, Sherri Maddux; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Timi Maddux; grandchildren, Coty Maddux and his wife, Kelly, and Payton Maddux, all of Washington Court House, along with many friends she considered family and treasured.
There will be no visitation, just a private graveside service for the immediate family, with a memorial service planned at a safer time.
In memory of Lora, and for the wonderful work they do, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, 222 North Oakland Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
