LEWIS W. REDD

Lewis W. Redd, 99, of Bloomingburg, Ohio, died early Saturday morning, October 20, 2018, at Carriage Court Assisted Living where he had been residing since May.

Mr. Redd was born June 4, 1919, in Washington, PA to John Lewis and Lena Charters Redd.  He was a graduate of Bloomingburg High School and lived most of his life in this community where he was a retired farmer.

He was a member of the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church; the Fayette County Farm Bureau and the former Bloomingburg Lions Club.

On December 26, 1941, he married the former Betty Allen.  She preceded him in death on February 3, 2004.  He was also preceded by a son, J. Allen Redd in 2016, and two sisters, Ruth Carr and Mary Pixa.

Mr. Redd is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Julie Redd of Houston, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Colette and Paul Peterson of Columbus; his fiancé and special friend, Mary Morris of Washington Court House; a daughter-in-law, Charmaine Redd of Byrdstown, KY; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a sister, Helen Moller of Oregon.

The funeral will be Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Joe Fox, senior pastor at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
