James Dawson, Jr., 61, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, August 13, 2018, at 4:18 p.m. shortly after arrival at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
Jim was born November 30, 1956, in Williamson, KY to James and Helen Bloomfield Dawson. He was a 1974 graduate of Bloom-Carroll High School in Fairfield County. He graduated from college in Tennessee and also attended Southern State Community College. He moved to this community in 2010, from Alabama.
Before his retirement, he was a team leader at the Mercedes-Benz manufacturing plant in Alabama for 14 years.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and was a member of Paul H. Hughey Post #25 of the American Legion.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Amanda Lewis and a brother, Steve Dawson.
He is survived by his wife, the former Annabel Napoles whom he married January 10, 2006; four children, Jamie Vang and her husband, Tommy, of Wisconsin, Jeremiah Dawson of Dayton, Brittany Townsend and her husband, Blake, of Alabama and James “Zach” Dawson, III of Alabama; several grandchildren and four siblings and their spouses, Chester and Kitty Dawson of Florida, Robert and Brenda Dawson, Phyllis and Tom Adams and Anna Louise and Jeff Leisure, all of Washington Court House.
Cremation will take place and the family will observe a private celebration of life service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
