Glen Irvin McCoy, 94, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, February 1, 2021, at 6 a.m. at Fayette County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since January 28. He had been in failing health.
Glen was born September 8, 1926, in Adams County, Ohio to Vernon and Irene Peterson McCoy. He was a graduate of Peebles High School and had lived most of his adult life in Washington Court House.
He was an award winning professional photographer and, along with his wife, owned and operated McCoy Photography from 1965, until their retirement in 2009. He was a lifetime member of the Professional Photographers of Ohio and the National Photographers Association.
Glen was affiliated with the Grace United Methodist Church and was a longtime member of the Washington Rotary Club.
On March 30, 1948, he married the former Martha Ann (Marty) Engle. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2012. He was also preceded by his parents and a sister, Thelma Guy.
Glen is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bill Hayward of Grove City, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sherry McCoy of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren, Mindy (Chris) Hayward-Hauck of Columbus, Scott (Cheryl) Hayward of Columbus, Ashley (Chris) Collins, Lindsay (Tyler) Schieber, Chase (Kelsey) McCoy and Keaton (Alex) McCoy, all of Blue Springs, MO; 11 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlene and Larry Bishop of Washington Court House and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Bloomingburg Cemetery with the Rev. Katy Wheat, pastor at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Columbus, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
