Gladys Ann Kirk, 72, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at 4:15 p.m. at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton where she had been a patient since Saturday.
Gladys was born June 26, 1946, in Perry County, Ohio to Floyd and Velora Adcock Angle. She was a 1964 graduate of New Lexington High School; received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Ohio University in 1968, and a Master’s degree in early childhood development from The Ohio State University in 1973. She moved to Fayette County in 1967, from Perry County.
She was a Fayette County Extension Agent in Home Economics and 4-H from 1968-1978, and then taught elementary school special education in the Greenfield Exempted Village Schools from 1979 to 1999.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Fayette County Professional Home Economists.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Tucker.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen D. Kirk whom she married October 23, 1971; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Julley Kirk of Riverside, Ohio; two granddaughters, Hailey Berry and Ruby Lee Kirk; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Wallace of Bremen, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; longtime close friends, Judy Kennedy and Tina and Jason Cline and her feline companions, Alley and Boy.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or funeral.
