Georgianna M. Joseph Burton, 85, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1:25 p.m. at Signature HealthCARE of Fayette County where she had been a patient since January.
Georgianna was born July 23, 1936, in Hillsboro, Ohio to George Wilbur and Dorothy Dollene Dunnagan Ward. She was a 1954 graduate of Hillsboro High School and lived most of her life in Hillsboro, Washington Court House and Good Hope.
She had formerly been manager of Lords and Cato in Washington Court House before her retirement as a teller at Fifth Third Bank in Washington Court House.
She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ.
Georgianna was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward E. Joseph on August 16, 1992; by her parents, two stepdaughters, Vicki Swinford and Jane Hill and a brother, Charles W. Ward.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick M. Burton whom she married March 23, 2006; a son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Katy Joseph of Washington Court House; four step children, Alan Joseph and his wife, Bonnie, of Washington Court House, Regina Krzychi of Manhattan, KS, Andrew Burton and his wife, Janie, of Miamisburg and Phillip Burton of Clinton County; three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Kamryn, Zane and Madison Joseph; several step grandchildren, including Tracy Vilvens and her husband, Justin, of Granville, OH; several step great grandchildren; a sister, Jean Wissinger of Washington Court House and several nieces and nephews, including Rick Wissinger of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Julie and Jeff Shaw of Grove City, OH.
The funeral will be Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with John Pfeifer, minister at the Gathering Place, officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial of the cremains at a later date in the Good Hope Cemetery
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
