Erma Mae Happenny, 91, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, December 14, 2017, at her home.

Mrs. Happenny was born July 5, 1926, in Warren County, Ohio to Leroy and Julia Gilbert Hurtt.  She was a graduate of Lebanon High School and had lived most of her life in this community.

She formerly was co-owner and bookkeeper for the Try-Me City Cab Company and bookkeeper for Coil Trucking Company.  She had also been a cashier at Kroger’s.

Mrs. Happenny was an active member of the Fayette County Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William M. Phillips and Paul E. Happenny; two brothers, Walter and Ralph Hurtt and two sisters, Betty Isaacs and Mildred Jeffreys.

Mrs. Happenny is survived by a daughter, Barbara K. Phillips Mechling of Grove City; two brothers, David Hurtt and Bill Hurtt and his wife, Irene, all of Lebanon, Ohio; a sister, Ann Henderson and her husband, Arnold, of Northern Kentucky;  several nieces and nephews and her special friend, Bob Henkle of Washington Court House..

The funeral will be Monday, December 18, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 12 Noon until time of the service.
