Doris Pauline Southworth, 80, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 1:49 p.m. at Mount Carmel Grove City where she had been a patient the past month.

Doris was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but lived most of her life in Washington Court House.

She had formerly been a bookkeeper for Sagar Dairy and then, for many years, she and her husband were co-owners and operators of Mugs and Jugs.

Doris had formerly served on the board of directors of the Washington Country Club.  She was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of the Wednesday Card Club.  However, her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lee Southworth on December 4, 2016, and by her mother and step-father, Mary Alice and Kenneth Self.

Doris is survived by her husband, Richard William Southworth whom she married May 5, 1956; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Buck Minyo and two grandchildren, Spencer and Trevor Minyo, all of Washington Court House.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation took place.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Todd Wallace, pastor at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
