Donald Eugene Reed, 74, of New Holland, Ohio died Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at his residence.
Don was born June 2, 1946, at Circleville, in Pickaway County, Ohio to Claude and Gayle LaWanda Ater Reed. He was a 1964 graduate of Miami Trace High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University. He was a lifelong New Holland resident.
Before his retirement, he was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Don served as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister-in-law, David and Audrey Reed.
Don is survived by a brother, James Reed of Toledo; two nieces, Teresa Dickson of Cutler Bay, Florida, and Kelly Reed Gargas of Ottawa Hills, OH; a nephew, Michael Reed of Toledo and several great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021, from 6-7 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland.
A private burial will take place at the Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport, Ohio.
