Carolyn Jeanne Mallow, 80, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 7 p.m. shortly after arrival at Mount Carmel Grove City Medical Center.
Carolyn was born August 18, 1940, in Galloway, Ohio to Raymond Leo and Enola Evelyn Powell Wilhelm. She was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School and attended Bliss Business College.
Before her retirement, she was treasurer for the Washington City Schools. Previous to that, she had been a cashier and bookkeeper for A & P Grocery Store.
Carolyn was a member of St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church where she was a member of the ladies society and did volunteer church duties. She was a member of the Fayette County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and served as president in 2009 and 2010. She also was a member and treasurer of the local School Employees Retirement Organization.
On September 22, 1962, she married Joseph G. Mallow. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2017. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alan Mallow on June 13, 2013; a great grandson, Cole Fluent; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Carolyn Wilhelm and two nephews, Johnny and Steven Wilhelm.
Carolyn is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tamika Mallow and a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike Mills all of Washington Court House; seven grandchildren, Kurtis (Taylor) Mallow. Kyle Mallow, Kristen (Adam) Carrington, Gerritt Mallow, Tayla (Adam) Rummer, Melissa Mills and Ashley (Chapman) Fluent; great grandchildren, Cael and Aspen Fluent, Charlie and Lillie Carrington, Maverick Mallow and Kaiden Rummer; several close friends and her beloved cats.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 12 Noon at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Cyrus Haddad, pastor at the church. Burial will follow in the St. Colman Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Saturday, January 30, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. until time of the funeral mass.
