Betty Jane Pearson, 83, of New Castle, IN, died Monday, January 14, 2019, at 4:05 p.m. at the Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle where she had been residing since 2015.
Betty was born April 11, 1935, in Fayette County, Ohio to Floyd and Clara Essie Grooms Roberts. She was a graduate of Washington High School and lived in this community until moving to Indiana in 1983.
She was a retired bookkeeper and had formerly worked at Downtown Drug and Cudahy Packing Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Pearson on December 12, 2018, and a granddaughter, Aria Rowley in 2013.
Betty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Alfred “Gene” Clifton of Morriston, FL; a grandson, Lee (Carla) Rowley of Westerville; step grandchildren, Amanda (Allen) Vanderpool, Tonya (Boomer) McCollister and Jeanie (Kevin) Clifton; several step great grandchildren and special family friend, Peggy Palmer.
Cremation has been observed.
Arrangements for a memorial service with burial of the cremains in Highlawn Cemetery are being completed and will be announced by the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
