Anthony Raymond “Whitey” Keeton, 57, of New Holland, Ohio died Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 8:28 a.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he had been a patient since Monday.
He was born June 7, 1964, in Washington Court House, Ohio to James Carl and Lula Faye Law Keeton. He lived most of his life in the New Holland and Frankfort communities.
Whitey had been a factory and construction worker. He was full of ideas and could fix anything.
He loved OSU football; NASCAR races, country music and going to festivals and truck pulls. He was very social kind of guy that never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Scott Keeton in 2012; by his parents; a sister, Sharon Kay Funk and a nephew, Larry Galen Funk, Jr..
Whitey is survived by his wife, the former Angela Kay Arledge; three children, Bryan Keeton and his girlfriend, Brenda Shoemaker, of Kingston, Angel Keeton and her boyfriend, Neil Whitten, of Yellowbud, April Keeton and her boyfriend, Shawn Baker, of Chillicothe; five grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Aedyn Keeton, Michael Howell, Kylie and Makayla Whitten and Raylen Keeton; ten siblings, Merv (Tara) Keeton of Clarksburg, Michael (Angie Lytle) Keeton of Frankfort, Rich Keeton and Jack Keeton both of Florida, Judy (Skip) Strahler of Washington Court House, Linda (Tony) Jones of Grove City, Betty (Tim) Strahler of Bloomingburg, Emma (Lloyd) Arledge of Chillicothe, Dovie (Brian Archer) Keeton of Frankfort and Carla Keeton of Bloomingburg; a brother-in-law, Larry Funk of New Holland and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
An open casket graveside service, with the Rev. Michael Hodge, minister at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ In Christian Union, officiating will be held Monday, August 30, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the New Holland Cemetery where Whitey’s family will greet friends and other family members immediately prior to the graveside service.
Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland.
