Robert D. “Bus” Creamer, 95, of Washington Court House, Ohio died peacefully Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 5:50 p.m. at his home.
Bus was born December 27, 1921, in Franklin County, Ohio to Virtus and Bessie Fulton Creamer. He was a graduate of Grove City High School and lived most of his life in this community.
He was an installer, repairman and test man for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 35 years before his retirement in 1977.
Bus was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church; Telephone Pioneers of America; a 65-year member of Fayette Lodge F & AM #107; 32nd Degree Masons, Valley of Columbus; Aladdin Temple Shrine; Washington Shrine Club and was a 60-year member Washington C.H. Chapter #129 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan during World War II. He was a member of Paul H. Hughey Post #25 of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Georgibel Graves on July 3, 1974; by his first wife, Eileen Engle; his parents; a brother, John Creamer; two sisters, Becky Marsh and Laurabelle Edgington and special companion, Mary Bumgarner.
Bus is survived by three children, Michael Creamer of Grove City; Cinda Pearce and her husband, Ron, of Laurelville and Crista Creamer of Washington Court House; three grandchildren, Michael Creamer, Jr., Jason (Melisa) Pearce and Corey (Jacqueline) Pearce; six great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Noah and Britni DeVito, Kylee, Jordan and Raiden Pearce and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. James A. Kiger, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 p.m. A Masonic service, immediately followed by an Elks service, both of which are open to the public, will be held at the funeral home beginning at 8 p.m. Friday.
