Jean Linzinmeir Gebhart, 90, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday, May 18, 2018, at 6:37 p.m. at Carriage Court Assisted Living where she had been residing since February 2017.

Jean was born July 7, 1927, at Marysville in Union County, Ohio to Louis Rausch and Lucille Bishop Linzinmeir.  She was a 1945 graduate of Marysville High School and attended Jamestown Business College in Jamestown, NY.  She had lived in Washington Court House since 1958.

Jean had been a member of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church and Gamma II Chapter of Phi Beta Psi.

She liked to quilt, buy antiques, garden, and above all else, she loved spending time with her family, always saying “Family is best.”  She adored her husband and dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great granddaughter and extended family.  “Our parents gave us the best childhood ever and she truly had a wonderful life.”

On July 27, 1952, she married Dr. Ralph Gebhart, Jr.  He preceded her in death on June 3, 2007.  She was also preceded in death by a son, David G. Gebhart on August 29, 2015; a brother, David L. Linzinmeir in 2017, and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Linzinmeir and Carolyn Linzinmeir.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Marc Haugen of Columbia, SC; a son, Jay Gebhart of Washington Court House and his girlfriend, Tina Higgins; six grandchildren, Ben Haugen and his wife, Leah, of Columbia, SC, Sara Haugen of Columbus, OH, Kristin Gebhart and wife, Kelly Shaw, of Portland, OR,, Korbin Gebhart of Columbus, OH, and Kara Root and Kyle Gebhart of Austintown, OH; a great granddaughter, Avery Root; a brother, John Linzinmeir of Columbus; a sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Reynold Rausch of Hilliard; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Dennis of Miamisburg, OH and a brother-in-law, George Gebhart of Portland, ME.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.

There will be no calling hours.

    I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Gebhart’s passing. I always loved the Gebharts. I always felt they were my friends. Dr. Gebhart took care of my family’s health for many years. He had treated five generations of us. It wAs awesome to know my Doctor loved all of us and we would receive the very best of care.
